    GX470 Suspension Recommendation

I have had my GX for about a year and a half now. If currently sits on Billstein 5100s with FJ factory springs, and SSO rear conversion. I am running 255/80-17s with fender liner mods and trimming of the passenger front fender corner to stop rubbing. After the 5100s, my CVs started seeping...

    Lexus GX 460 & 470 owner's thread

I remember back in June 2014 contemplating between a 470 and a brand new 4runner. I remember the swing out door being the killer for me at the time, as well as lack of warranty, and a bunch of miles vs. new, so I never even drove it. I built the 5th mildly, and it has been fun and dependable...

Crash course on Land Cruiser needed

‘13JK money is the same as a 20 year old 80? Wow, I'm seriously shocked. One huge plus about the 80 is that these trucks have been torn down to each and every bolt and there are write ups about it on Mud. The downside for you is whether or not you are handy and can fix these trucks as...

Is the GX built on a similar 25 yr platform as the LX and Land Cruiser?

I think I have a lead foot, as I wasn't too happy with the power in the 96 or even the 06. I'm guessing the weight difference between the LX and the GX gives my buttdyno a better driving experience in the GX over the LX. The GX feels more peppy. The only immediate complaint I have about the GX...

    Camping vs Emergency equipment

A buddy of mine lived in Compton, CA, during the Rodney King riots. He described seeing groups of kids going door to door to "forage" for stuff. They avoided the 'hardened' houses, i.e. a couple of armed adults at or near the front of the street entrances. Even now, home invasions, i.e...

Is the GX built on a similar 25 yr platform as the LX and Land Cruiser?

I just picked up an '08 in July, with 118k on it. These were first introduced in '03 (end of '02?) so there are models out there with over half of your suggested service life. Another consideration is your mechanical ability (to save labor costs) or your access to quality mechanic(s) to address...

Limb Risers For 5th Gen 4Runner

There's a thread on t4r.org/5th gen: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-gen-t4rs/214690-there-way-have-limb-risers-without-front-bumper.html I thought the consensus on these boards were against the use of brush guards. https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/brush-guards-are-damage-multipliers.84483/

    Looking for some GX opinions...

Congrats! Picked up a white 08 non-KDSS with NAV this week myself. I've spent a lot of time on: toyota120.com, clublexus.com, ih8mud, and GXOR on Facebook. You'll find answers to most of your maintenance questions and of course answers to questions you didn't have. There isn't a one stop site...

May be pulling the trigger on a 2010-2011 4Runner Trail Edition

Trail has the extra off road goodies, but no 3rd row. Trail can be had without KDSS. Limited has full time 4WD, but OEM suspension makes lifting a challenge without removing components. I wanted a trail, but I went SR5 only because wife wanted 3rd row. If only they made a full time 4WD, third...

Set up 2007 DoubleCab Shortbed for Sale

On the front page alone there are 3 Tacos of the same vintage. I think there's another on later pages. That might have a lot to do with it.

    Overland Expo West 2015

Vendors area mud was nothing like the camper side; it was sticky clay that grew on your feet with each step, and as water collected, it became dangerously slick. I was far away from the entrance, so I kept thinking I was lower than the others and had more slop.

    Overland Expo West 2015

We were there Friday at noon til Saturday afternoon. It was damn cold but I blame more my prep level than anything else. It did cross my mind to buy a roof rack and RTT right then and there if install was free ;) Our road in and the campsite

    Colonal's +Adventure Prescription+ | A Toyota 4Runner 5th Gen Story

I'm also in a 5th gen, but with third row seating. Did you make or buy a tray for the new battery? This thread is a curse; I now see a fridge as 'necessary' and I immediately scoured my local Craigslist for Rubicon tires!

    Colonal's +Adventure Prescription+ | A Toyota 4Runner 5th Gen Story

Just found and read through your build thread, and I like your progress. Regarding the fridge, did you make any mods to power it, or do you just plug it into the outlet in the PS rear? does it remain powered throughout the night when you camp?
