Expeditions 7: Two Years Around the World on all Seven Continents.

You are almost right and will receive partial credit for being on the right track. I don't think the straight answer will surface in this thread. Some background info on some of the team and some further internettin' will satisfy your curiosity about the truck.

Alaska and back via plane, bike, and a half million mile Dodge

Very cool trip report. I love that it is an honest representation of your families adventure. Too many of these trip reports are not candid, where the photos are posed to illustrate the most rugged terrain or to show the latest trick expedition gear in use...they seem very scripted, self...

    Jeep Wrangler Habitat Official Release

More sleeping area than RTT, more integration into the vehicle but maybe the most appealing is it has more exclusivity than RTT. Ownership of the habitat will be a rather small fraternity. The few that'll be rolling an AT Habitat are guaranteed 2-3 years of rock star status on ExPo and related...

    1979 FJ55

Those homebrew bumpers are an innovative repurpose of military style Lunette Eye towbars. No trouble finding lash points for canoe.

    Homebrew fridge/stove slide combo

    An Axe - Seriously?

Clearly that's true, his last couple of posts have really been valuable additions to this thread. :hehe:

    An Axe - Seriously?

Thanks for the offer. I'll do my best not to endanger or alienate you for your kindness to me. I seem to be rubbing people the wrong way today. I feel like the guy that referred to Overland International as a shell company. :)

    An Axe - Seriously?

I guess truth be told, I got my inspiration from you. I wouldn't have even replied if you hadn't posted.

    An Axe - Seriously?

Wow, you're very insightful and have a gift for seeing what's really under the surface of people's posts. Thanks for the response. PS: I don't see anywhere in Al Gore's handbook where sissies like myself are excluded from using his internet.

    An Axe - Seriously?

I am apparently putting my trail buddies in life threatening situations. Is it any wonder nobody is willing to share a campfire and adult libations with me? At least they know I am NOT an axe murderer. :coffeedrink:

    An Axe - Seriously?

That's why I used statements like "IMHO" and first person experiences and opinions. I didn't make statements saying you shouldn't carry an axe or it isn't a good tool. I do stick to my opinions that most (visible) mounted axes are for show and my personal experiences have never placed me in...

    BDS , OME or ?? for a 1999 XJ 3" lift.

Either offering is nice. I have the exact same list of needs for my 1999 XJ as you listed. I am running OME heavy springs and firm nitros. I really like the combo. The street handling improved, even with rear sway removed, as well as it's the ability on trails. I have an M8000 hung out past...

    An Axe - Seriously?

When I am off-road, I stick to established trails. I have never seen a need for an axe. I do however find a set of loppers very useful for widening the way when a stray branch has grown over the trail and threatens the truck's paint. INMHO the vast (overwhelming) majority of axes seen mounted...

Height Adjustment for a Roof Top Tent on an Adventure Trailer...Ideas

Very clever. I'm glad this thread was started. I am curious to see some solutions. I'm a big fan of the simple solutions they generally end up the most reliable. I wonder what we'll see? :lurk:

Ford F554, the replacement for the H1 is here.

I hope they'll be more appealing than the Icelandic fenders pictured on that SD. (IMHO)

A build for going...off the beaten path

Great to see this rig being used the right way, for the right reasons. Glad to see your family faving fun afield.
