    first breakdown !!

Last year I spent a month trying to track down a new pre DPF FG 4X4 to build a rig on. No success, all the dealers said the last of the pre DPF models had all been snapped up early on. Same issues happening with the US pickups. After warranty I would find a way to remove all the extra stuff...

Help me decide - Go diesel or stay with gas burner

I went thru the same decision making 6 months ago. For years my plan had been to buy a diesel. With the introduction of clean diesel technology all that changed. If you can get a pre ULSD model like the old 7.2 that would be great. I bought a F350 V-10 gas for the following reasons: 1.Price of...

Pulley Block and Shackles for a 10,000# Winch

I was asking about the actual gap size in the bow at its narrow spot (at the location of the pin) with the pin out. I did find one spec sheet on the net that had a 3/4" shackle shown with the gap at 1&1/4",which would fit around the the 1" thick front recovery closed loops on my F-350. Almost...

Pulley Block and Shackles for a 10,000# Winch

I see D ring shackles are sized 3/4" or 7/8" or 1", anybody know what that means? I need D shackles big enough to place around the closed loops on the front of my F-350 which are made of 1" diameter material.

Hi Lift Jack with lift mate

Thanks for the help, if the covers will not come off I will go back to crawling in the sand with the bottle jack. Thats the way I always did it, just not as much fun the older I get.

Hi Lift Jack with lift mate

Yes, that is it. I never did pry on them, is the adhesive looking stuff just a bedding agent? What do you think of the chain idea to lift with the covers on?

Hi Lift Jack with lift mate

I can take off the center part to get to the lugs, everything else is bonded. The outside of the wheel looks chrome but looking from the back reveals a stock painted wheel with what looks like expanding foam type adhesive holding the cover on. This is a 2009 F-350 ford FX-4 pickup with what ford...

Hi Lift Jack with lift mate

I have an 09 F-350 with a camper. I ordered it with the steel wheels with the intention of placing the lift mate hooks into the wheel slots. When the truck arrived it has some type of plastic wheel cover which is bonded to the stock steel wheels. Placement of the hooks would destroy the non...

    Diesel News: POST HERE

At this point in time it would seem that any vehicle needing ULSD fuel would be very limited as an expedition vehicle unless illegal and warranty voiding modifications are made.

    Diesel News: POST HERE

As this is an expedition website, has anybody decided how to run any of these newer diesels south of the US border and beyond given the lack of ULSD in these areas?
