Without my lift I was running 235/85R16's (about 31.7") no problem. I actually still have those same tires on currently...but contemplating on going to 285/75's... not a whole lot of options if I'm staying with the 17" rim

    "Big Red" GMC Savana build

It's been a while!!! Had to actually search for my own post. Sorry for the long delay, been deployed most of the summer. Finally have some time off so I'm packing up the family and dogs and heading on a mainland Alaska trip!!! Since my last post I've got a few things in place, mainly my 2" lift...

    VANifornication!

The way I see it, what a perfect way to display the 26" (I will presume those are standard tires on your bike:bike_rider:) of ground clearance.... at the body of course:D Very nice looking Van!

    Chevy AWD

Sorry there aren't any before pictures... but here she sits with the lift installed. Came out to be about 2 3/4" in the rear and 2" in the front. Just as Mr. Nachos, the rear is definitely a bit higher than the front, but I'm still happy with the outcome.

    Chevy AWD

I've found that the AWD has taken me everywhere I've needed to go so far... there's only so much you can do with chevy platform (short of deleting the IFS). I don't plan on wheeling the van like I stole it, so AWD has faired very well on inclimate paved roads and moderate "trail" driving. For...

    CCV low profile pop top

I was apposed to one of the larger pop-tops since our vans are already pretty tall... but this sounds like a good alternative! Looks great and I'm sure you'll have guys lining up for this option. Just curious, what kind of weight can be safely carried on top of the pop up without having to...

    Mitsubishi L300 4WD

I can't agree with AeroNautiCal enough! Not all of us have the cash flow to add the latest and greatest equipment and gadgetry to our vans... a little ingenuity and elbow grease can go a long way... in your case, I think you could make anything with just your bondo and welder!

    Chevy AWD

Pulled the trigger on those skyjacker shocks and blocks!!!:wings: and since I did get a full 2" of lift out of adjusting the torsion screws, I held off on the Maxx Cam kit. Will try to get some intallation pics as I go along!

    "Big Red" GMC Savana build

Before I dropped the money on a professional linex or herculiner for my exterior weather striping, I thought I'd give the good old spray can a try. This is Dupli-color spray on bedliner, and I think ran around $10 for the can. I figured if it works and actually last without major chipping, this...

    "Big Red" GMC Savana build

That's why any interior modifications need to be removable! Gotta keep the option of that 2nd bench and cargo when I need it! I figured a slew would be more than three! We'll see when we get passed that point! I just finished putting in a layer of insulation in the back... just the doors and...

    "Big Red" GMC Savana build

Just noticed the thumbnails attached, does that usually happen when you post pictures or did I "newb" the post by doing something wrong?

    "Big Red" GMC Savana build

So in hopes of lighting a fire under my behind, I'm starting this build thread to document the transformation of my 2007 GMC Savana from a passenger hauler to a capable "family-get-away" vehicle. Let's start with how I purchased her last year: 2007 GMC Savana 1500H, AWD, 5.3L, G80 rear locking...
