Photos of mid-sized vehicles - Post Here

I'm partial to the Chevy, but hell, you could put a beat up Corolla in those photos and it would still look epic! Very nice stuff, you have a great eye! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Beauty in Tow: Lightweight Camper Roundup

Great reply to a very good thread!

    Payload of 2017 F350 SRW 8' box 4 door 4wd XL...

Yeah, what Darwin said... this is sounding really unsafe. Bigger tires and a lift effectively decrease your safe load capacity even further. Triple sides really don't belong on a SRW.

Tie downs, turnbuckles, and a dolly w/tow bar (truck camper setup) in MA

PM replied, turnbuckles sold. I also repurposed my cart, so just the tie-downs and the tow-bar remain. If you pay shipping, I'll box either of those up and send via UPS ground.

    Farewell truck camper!

I can't say the thought didn't cross my mind... payload sticker says 1450#! That's only 150# less than my neighbor's 1/2 ton!

    Farewell truck camper!

It does! Just comes down to so many factors, and what seems great in the research phase, doesn't always pan out. I will say, I got awfully good at putting the camper on/off the truck. By the end of this past summer, I could have it off in 10' and back on in another 20'! Of course, that didn't...

    Farewell truck camper!

Just wanted to say thanks to this forum - lots of good stories, ideas, and answers here. We sold our Northstar and I traded my 3/4 ton F250 for a new diesel Colorado. As much as we loved the truck camper, family camping in the northeast rarely involves driving to one place and staying put. The...

Tie downs, turnbuckles, and a dolly w/tow bar (truck camper setup) in MA

Changed our camping strategy; sold the slide-in truck camper and traded the big 3/4 ton truck for a smaller, more expedition-capable midsize. As such, I'm basically offering up every little bit of truck camper gear that was leftover. Prices are basically nominal, and realistically, this is for...

    Let's see your 2nd Gen Colorado/Canyon

Perfect, thanks! Another question for this group: anyone know if there's a replacement part for the front lip / air dam / spoiler / whatever-you-wanna-call-it? I know I can just remove it, but wondering if there's a minimalist option out there to clean it up just a little.

Do you get any rub with just the Zone level and this size tire?

    Let's see your 2nd Gen Colorado/Canyon

Some great looking trucks here - amazing what just the 1" lift does! I just had a '17 Z71 diesel on a 24-hr test drive; for just under 100 miles, I averaged 24.1 mpg! It was all local driving and included plenty of sitting and idling at the dealership while the salesman went through the truck...

    SOLD______NorthStar TC650 & Chevy 1500HD plus Mod's

Nice setup - I like the RO mod but I think my family would have something to say about losing the heater up here in the NE! One question: is that a Chevy 1/2 ton with a 650 camper AND flat-towing a Jeep?! What engine? With the wind resistance and combined weight, my 5.4l F250 would be slower...

Northstar exterior shower is eating up my cabinet space!

@mkish: I have a TC650 with the same annoying ext shower hose. It's even more annoying because on the Liberty, Northstar uses a same/similar quick disconnect as ripper is pointing out. No idea why they wouldn't use it on the TC as well. I bet a call to Northstar would get you the part number for...

    Northstar 850 SC has sold

That's a great camper, and about as loaded as a Northstar TC gets! I've been looking to upsize from a TC650, I think your price is fair.

    Life in a pop-up for 3+ people

Does it have to be an FWC? We're a family of 3 and fit quite nicely into our Northstar TC650. We have the XB, with the extra foldout bunk, so in warmer weather, we don't even have to convert the dinette table (which isn't that hard anyway). But, even in cold weather without the XB opened up, we...

What do you store your camper on?

I built a dolly with industrial casters (rated up to something like 750# for $30 each), a 4x4" PT frame, firmed that up with a 2x6" PT board across each end to tie the corners together and give a better mounting point for the casters, and just a single sheet of 3/8" OSB across the top. Total...
