My DIY "rooftop tent platform" idea

This kind of builds on a similar thread I saw, but executed in a very different way. The requirement is to have a RTT which adds no more than 6" in height but can sleep 3 people (so 62-63" width atleast). That does not exist. The Falcon XL is 57" wide and so are all other "4 person" tents. They...

    put regular tent on roof?

Wow this is quite an old thread. I am having similar ideas now, after not finding a proper 3 person RTT which adds less than 6" height to the truck. The main motivation is keeping height low. This is the idea I am thinking about buy a couple of these Connect them with heavy duty commercial...

Does anyone make really wide wedge tents (wider than falcon XL)

Looks like the thinnest tent with 60" + width is the Freespirit tent. its 10.5" height and king size bed. Not wedge, but foldout, but still slim. Then at 10" and king size is the OVS Bushweld https://overlandvehiclesystems.com/18089901-bushveld-hard-shell-roof-top-tent/#product-tab-description...

WeBoost Antenna mounting options for 3rd gen Tundra (2022+)

I want to locate the weboost antenna to the front fender, however most brackets I find are for Tacomas or Lexus. Does any clamp/bracket exist for the 2022+ Tundra with an antenna mount?

Does anyone make really wide wedge tents (wider than falcon XL)

most full size trucks are atleast 75 inches wide, pushing to 80 inches for others. However, the widest sleeping platform I could find was falcon XL at 57". Is there a company which makes a slim wedge tent which is atleast 65" sleeping area (overall width would be 68" still about 7" narrower than...

What LED lights do you run ? Why?

I run Aurora 200W 20". I used to sell them a short while ago. Really good narrow beam with 5500K light, not bluish at all. The price is also very good. Before that I had Oledone 60W ovals, but they had a bit too much spread for my taste.

    OBD II apps and dongles

After fiddling with these bluetooth wifi thingies, I have seen its better to spend 20-25$ more and get a OBD reader with screen. Gives you error code and other info you need. No need to mess with apps etc., More convenient.
