I also had the pleasure of replacing the radiator in my 98 5.2 this last week.
Some of the design is decent but the rest SUCKED. Who in their right mind designs a cooling system with no ability to bleed air from the highest point in the system? Took forever to get the air out, of course its about 105 right now so that didn't help either. The tranny cooler lines were stuck and destroyed getting the old one out. So I used regular fittings and new hose to replace them making it easier to do fixes later and add an external cooler. During the affair I also replaced the thermostat, upper hose, and upper outlet as they also needed replaced.
I'm not sure exactly how much I'll be getting for my old radiator. I took it apart and tossed the plastic ends. Cleaned the core and will be going to the scrap yard to recoop a little aluminum money.
