Clean rig, mine used to look that clean... then I had an "incident" on the trails.. LOL. keep up the good work.

I had today off so I was able to finish the OME install. Here's a pic showing the stock rear spring beside the OME:

The stock springs popped right off the perch with a good tug however the new springs were a PITA to install. Here's a pic of the Monty with the OME installed (ignore the wheels):

It added a little over an inch in height & the ride is a LOT better.

Looks like there's a lot of rake... I think I would crank the tb's a bit more but other then that it looks great. Very clean!

It'll look better once I get all 4 wheels painted black. I also need to trim the front bump stops so it won't bottom out so easily.

Great looking Gen1. Amazingly capable, highly underrated trucks. Perfect for conjuring awe and flabbergast from drivers of the usual rig. The OME springs should settle down into it's proper sag after a few miles of use. Save the torsion bar cranks until the rear settles.
Incase you're considering it, I've fitted mine with BFG AT 33x10.5x15 on stock rims. Incidentally the wider tire will also fit onto the spare wheel bracket and sit flush with the rear gate.
Keep up the good work. It's great to see another Gen1 in the hands of someone who appreciates it. Look me up should you find yourself near San Francisco.

You can also try & drill them out to allow them to have a more progressive compression rate. May ride better that way. If you don't like the way it rides after drilling them out, you can still trim them.

Why are so many people swapping over to manual locking hubs?

They are nice, though.

EDIT: I'm an idiot. Google and Wikipedia work wonders.

Not really here
I installed mine for the sake of saving my front drivetrain and to conserve just a little fuel. If you crank your torsion bars, it is a good idea to install some as it will add many years to the life of your CV axles.
