I ordered a RAM mount laptop stand kit today. It should be here in a week or so. I will have to get a power converter to have power to my laptop. I also will make a mount for my GPS puck to mount it on my roof rack. At this point I don't want to drill a hole in my roof to mount it through hole like it is designed for. Maybe a little further down the road I will mount it that way.

Sweet wk build. My 2008 is getting a set of general grabber AT2's 245/70-17 in thespring when my winters come off. Ive already got the roof basket, shovel and high lift on the basket.

I like thecabinet system idea youve got there. Right now i can fit a recovery strap, flashlight, roll of TP and some shackles under the floor cargo lid. Jumper cables in the stowage box behind the backseat.

Nice, these are 255/75r17s. They are mud terrains so they are kind of loud. I will likely go with a good all terrain when it comes time to replace them or when I get another set of wheels.. Which ever comes first.

I hope to get started on the cabinets soon.

I picked up four more light mounting brackets for my roof rack today. Got to get some lights now! I would like to eventually have four facing the front and two on each side. May end up only doing one in each side but we'll see.

A buddy and I took a short camping trip this weekend. We also did a little off roading. The trip went well, for the most part. I found some things I need to make some changes to.

We got camp set up and started looking for some firewood.

This was my buddies first time ever camping, even being in a sleeping bag! He decided to cut some of the wood by propping it against a tree right next to my brand new REI Kingdom 4. I didn't notice till after the wood he was cutting fell thru the rain fly on my tent!

Over all it was a good trip though.

FedEx brought me a present today! I got my RAM laptop stand. Pretty easy install, didn't take very long at all. I modified it a little. I drilled holes and bolted my port replicator to it instead of using the fingers that came with it.

nice rig!

imho, re-locate that quick connect from the front bumper before it gets ripped off. i'd also move the arb compressor to under the hood (as high as possible) before you go mud swimming much more ;)

I was thinking that too. I will have to move it. I may move the connector up inside the bunper cover. Also need to figure out away to mount a second battery under the hood as well.

When you get the second battery under the hood figured out let me know.....it is tighter than ********'s hat band under the hood.

Will do. I found a spot I think will work but I am also considering that spot (passenger sided against the firewall) for the new location for my ARB compressor.

Small update. I got my HAM license (KK4NES) a couple of weeks ago. I ordered Kenwood TH-D72A which I had to sent directly back since a couple of the buttons weren't working. I did get my spare cheap radio in today, BeoFeng UV-5R Plus. It is a pretty good radio, a class mate let me use his one night. I need an upgraded antenna but it works pretty good. Can't complain for $58 shipped that's for sure.

I also installed my scanner and a new antenna for it on my jeep.

This is by no means done. I am ether going to spend the money to get the full double DIN and do the true DIN install for it or make a hood like a head up gauge cluster for it.

I went with a Diamond K515SNMO luggage rack mount and a Larsen tri-band antenna for my scanner. I went with that mount because I was not willing to drill my roof at this point. I like it so far. Very sturdy mount. I will add antenna(s) for my HAM radio eventually. Not sure if I am going to go with a 5/8 2m and 70cm antenna or a dual band.

Ok, It has been a while since I have made any updates. I have not done a lot other than planning. Lack of funds makes dreaming my best options right now! I have not been able to find a location I feel is better for my compressor so it will stay and I will just have to be careful about water crossings. I have "made" an over head console. I used a radio under dash kit and mounted it through the headliner for my Uniden 996XT scanner. I installed a Kenwood 281A 2M ham radio with a 5/8 wave 2M antenna. I picked up a double din radio bezel from a GPS equipped Cherokee to replace the one I cut to put my scanner in before but I have to wait till I pick up a new radio to install it. I have also changed my mind on what I am going to do in the rear cargo area. I was wanting to retain easy access the factory cargo hole but have decided the little space I gain is not worth so I have decided to build a hybrid drawer/cargo container type setup. I plan to build a platform to put an ARB 50qt fridge, two 1560 (or similar) pelican cases, and a couple water containers. Looking to use the Reliance 7 gal cans right now and possibly setup some kind of pump to put a hose on to run a spout closer to the back so I don't have to dig behind the seat to get to the water. I should have room to build some smaller cubby holes on the sides as well.

The area I measured for the fit is the carpeted area only up to the factory cubby holes leaving room to still open the doors.

This would be the view looking in through the hatch from the rear.

I took a short trip last weekend. My aunt and I went to to Buffalo Point in Arkansas and camped over the weekend. We did some hiking on Saturday and went to explore Rush, an old mining town.

Our camp spot for the weekend. The spot next to us was washing out which is what the orange net is around.
