I came out of a 13 JK Unlimited and 16 JK Rock Hard Unlimited. After getting re married and needing room for 5 we decided to go with an 08 Z71 Suburban. Honestly it's big, comfortable and great for fire roads and easy trails. Camped in Afton Canyon Crossed the Mojave River (It's Stock) and weeks later as the Sub kept dying on the highway found that the ECM had water intrusion (Apparently these modules are low hanging fruit) Looking back it's more of a fun thought than a functional Over-landing vehicle. That's just my opinion. I never bought it thinking it would do what my Jeeps did but feel like if you're going to have a Z71 platform it should have other goodies other than a multi colored bumper and some skid plates.
This isn't to say i'm not going to do some things to get it more trail worthy and will gladly report back. Hopefully with good news.
