I don't mind on the bumper really. I hear it's 3-4mo. Not a biggie.

There isn't a huge wait on the skids is there? Especially the nekkid ones?

My T-Case and Rear Diff got there in well under a month. I was in Iraq so I am unsure the exact day but it was fairly quick.

Yeah the skids didn't take too long at all (maybe 3 weeks). Then again I got them unfinished. I didn't feel the need to have them powdercoated. The long wait for Jim's products does get frustrating but after you get them you realize it was well worth it. It really is top of the line. I can really tell the difference in craftsmanship between the Shock stuff and the KMA stuff.

I think I am going to have a guy at work fab up sliders for me in the shop. Maybe even have him teach me how to do it.

I actually just emailed Kyle at KMA and put in my order for a MultiCarrier. Figured I have most of the cash laying around right now, and would REALLY like to have it before the winter storms hit.

Shrock is getting my business for their front bumper though. That may wait a bit longer. Rear is more important right now.

You won''t be dissapointed. Kyle does make a nice rear bumper. Just don't expect the wait time to be any less than Shrockworks. Mine took 4 months.

I don't mind. That'll give me time to make 4 payments of $200 if I felt like it. HA! :costumed-smiley-007

I wish the KMA rear bumper came with some bedside protection.
I actually talked to him about that and he said he can't do anything extra w/o some more measurements and possibly welding to the frame of the truck.

Suggested I look locally for it to be done.

I think I'm going to take it to these guys to have put on-
http://eastsidecustomtruck.com/

And while we're there, I'll ask them about custom bumper sliders. Maybe get some welded on and attached to the bracket that bolts to the bumper mount?

I shouldn't hijack this thread anymore, I'm starting to feel guilty. :shakin:

That is an interesting direction you went with the rear springs. It seems like it would be a better way to go, instead of the AAL that most of the kits come with. Are those new rear spring packs expensive? How is the ride quality and articulation? Did you keep the extended rear shackles, or did you go back to stock?

Thanks, looks great. I think I'm going with the same type of suspension, although I may keep the front sway bar.

Also you have the bumpers I want!

What tires are you running now, size? Or are you using the stock 265/75R16 Rugged trails?

The Alcans ran me $240 per pack. With shipping they totaled $540 for both. I think it was well worth the extra $'s for the full pack as opposed to the AAL's because I had them made the way I wanted regarding stiffness. The articulation is much greater than what I had with the shackles alone and yes with the new leaf packs I did go back to my stock shackles.

I would say if you are going to get new front coilovers you would be better off taking the sway bar off. It really does help "somewhat" with the articulation, but doesn't take away at all regarding road handling. I wouldn't do it unless you plan on getting stiffer coilovers though.

I am running 285/75/16 BFG AT's.

Thanks.

Awesome setup.

Btw, for my X, the Alcans cost $600 shipped.

Still not too bad. What did you go 3.5" or so? I only went 2.5" on mine. I think they weighed 60lbs a piece according to the UPS label.

How much road noise do you get with the all terrains? I'm looking at that tire size, checking out different tires, but I don't want to really go with something that hums like crazy. I won't be driving on the interstate MUCH, I hope, but I'd like it to be reasonably quiet. Also, has your gas mileage suffered from that? Can you comment on 285s on the stock wheels, it also looks like you are going with wider wheels once you can get them.

I may do along the same routes, still thinking PRG products for the front coilovers and longer UCAs. Unsure of my setup in the rear.

Sorry for all the questions, I guess I have a lot. :Wow1:

Not much more noise at all. I don't even notice most of the time (on concrete they are a little louder). Gas mileage has probably went down in the neighborhood of 1-2 mpg with all my mods. It's hard to tell which caused the most damage. I've been running these 285's on stock wheels for 2.5 years now with no problems, you MAY have trouble finding a shop to mount them on 7" wheels though. And you will need some kind of lift so they will clear. I was running the 2.5" AC lift and never heard any scraping.

Any other questions just ask...

Yea, it seems KMA is very functional but a little rough around the edges, where the Shrock stuff is real clean! But we need a rear bumber from them!

Oh yea - Nice Truck! This is a very clean build and lots of design cues to take away from this thread. Thanks for posting.
