That would by my guess, Peavine or Rig Canyon perhaps?

We have winners! Peavine, if you look close, you can see the natural arch (above and slightly left of truck).

Next set...

Monticello, Medicine Lake in La Sal Mtns, I'll guess the Lockhart Basin Road near Indian Creek on the Third photo.

We have a winner (though the gas pump was at La Sal.
and a loser (me for forgetting about this thread). I recently got a PM asking about Dark Canyon and couldn't figure out where I had posted a pic of us there...then found this thread. The game continues...

Is that really what the Navajos named it or called it by 200 years ago or is that what arriving Mormon settlers "convinced" their native American neighbors to rename the place as according to Mormon beliefs?
I know it has been awhile since this dicussion ended, but my parents lived on the res 45 years ago, as well as my friends father. The reason for its name (as far as I have been told) comes from Navajo tradition, not Mormons, or any other religion.

Glad you are enjoying the thread. We spent 2 weeks in Utah for this trip before wondering for another 2 weeks home :)
