Any new updates?

Nein. I've just been driving it... on the pavement :(.

I just moved 70 miles north from Eugene to Salem, so just getting everything settled in temporarily. The girlfriend and I are about to embark on two weeks of vacations to celebrate her graduating from the University of Oregon (Go Ducks!). We'll be exploring, just with two feet this time around.

Looks great, what is the secret to getting the SGII to report transmission temp?

Has to be a '99+ to show trans temp.

jeepj667 is correct.

Congrats to the new Grad! I hear ya about just driving on the pavement, I haven't been off road all year, however, my build is gonna pick up speed. Have fun on the Vacation.

Thanks.

It turns out that the jiggle valve was at the 12 o'clock position, when it needed to be at the 6 o'clock position.

Can you expand on this, please. I have an 2002 4runner and would like to run a bit cooler if possible.

Unrelated to my vehicle, but to travel and exploration. After a two week hiatus, I finally stepped back onto the mainland. I had a great time in Hawaii (Big Island) and was able to fulfill a hankering of mine with visiting the Hawaii Volcanoes National Parks. WOW! If any of ya'll get the opportunity, jump on it. Chain of Craters Road was just as legit as it sounds, with the conclusion of the road meeting at where the lava flowed over a preexisting road in 2003. We snorkeled, SUP (stand-up paddle boarded), beached, relaxed, and enjoy many cold ones at the Kona Brewery. The vacation concluded with a 3 day rafting trip on the Rogue River. My girlfriend and I had an amazing time!

Headed up to Scotts Mills originally looking for Abiqua Falls, but instead it turned in to cruising the trails. I was only there for roughly an hour and can't wait to go back for a longer duration.

It appears I did not respond to your question. My apologies. Oddly enough, I stumbled across a thread on T4R for a Timing Belt/Water Pump write-up and the OP happen to experience hotter temperatures at the 12 o'clock position. Essentially the thermostat gets rotated the other way and walla! I was experience abnormal temperature so I brought it to the attention of the tech who did the work on my vehicle and this was the cure. I now run 190-193.

I've been using the 4Runner for its intended purposes these last few weeks and I love it. My friend (the XJ) has some property along side the Willamette River with some neat, tight trails. What better way to spend the morning of the 4th cruising in 4WD!

Debadged the tailgate. It's more aesthetically pleasing, as there was a lot of clutter with the multiple badges.

Somber update. The 4Runner has been sold to a wonderful couple in the Eugene, OR. area. I recently lined up a job in a profession that I have passion for. Unfortunately, it requires a vehicle with a better tow rating than #7000. I wish I could keep the 4Runner, but it is not feasible at this point in my life. I really was kicking myself in the pants watching it drive away, but it was a sacrifice I knew I had to make in order to be successful at my position. Thanks ya'll for tuning in and maybe a full-size thread is in my near future!
