This thing sound amazing. You must be over the moon with it.

Do you know if Dave is looking into putting it into a JK?
What diesel tank/pump does it have do you know? (tank capacity?)

Thanks for the info,

It is a fantastic truck. I get a big smile every time I jump in it for a drive.

Standard/stock tank in the Brute.

He is thinking about doing this same conversion in the JK. He believes it has plenty of torque and horsepower to get the job done in a JK. But he hasn't decided if he is going to offer this as option.

Can a 89 Mitsubishi Montero 4x4 accomodate a Cummings 3.3l?

Here is some nice info on the 3.3 on Proffitt's site.

http://www.proffittscruisers.com/engine-conversions/diesel-engine-options/cummins-b3-33l.html

Cummins B3, 3.3L Land Cruiser Diesel Engine Conversion
A lightweight, reasonably priced, fuel efficient choice.
The B3.3 is a compact little diesel made by Cummins but was a joint venture between Cummins and Komatsu. Mostly found in industrial equipment, this engine performs quite well in Land Cruisers with 33” tires. It produces 85 hp and 215 lb-ft of torque. Proffitt’s Cruiser’s has installed this engine in numerous Land Cruisers including 40’s, 45’s, and 60’s. Reported fuel mileage is roughly 27-29 with a 5 speed manual transmission. 85 hp may not sound like much, but this little engine does quite well and is actually quite peppy. The B3.3 works really well with 3.70 gearing, 33” tires, and 5 speed manual transmissions.

Cummins 3.3L Pros
More compact and lighter than most other diesels we install
Both engine and parts readily available
Reasonably priced (just over $5000 new)
Easily adaptable to lots of transmissions
Delivers good fuel economy 25-35 mpg reported
Good choice for alternative fuels like WVO and bio-diesel

I'm looking at buying a 89 Mitsubishi Montero 4x4, with a faulty engine. Will a Cummings 3.3l diesel fit? Has anybody done any such conversion, and does it entail buying a particular transmission? Or can a 6 speed manual tranny be bought to fit both the engine and suv?
Thanks for any info you might want to share,

There are too many variables, you'd have to test and fit the cummins and the transmission you want. You could put a mercedes OM617 in it with an AX-15 fairly easily.
