Somewhat off topic, but does anyone know where the weight rating information for a wheel can be found? Is it stamped somewhere on the wheel like it is on a tire? I've never looked that closely at any of the markings on the inside of my stock wheels, but I would like to know their weight rating.

I believe it is stamped on the outside of the rim - the part covered by the tire. At least, that's where I recall it was located on the TRD wheels I have on my FJ

Yeah i've already chose a wheel that supports 3200 lbs and a tire that supports 3195 lbs also. Mogas, just about man.. there's some guys that are up to almost 12,000 lbs. They're not light weight thats for sure!

Where about is the C.G?

All at frame level or below basically.. Drivetrain, fuel, on board water, bumpers winch. The rest up top is sheet metal and fiberglass.

I know is't no Maserati, but, how does it handle? Does it feel more or less "tippy" than the 80?

I've been wheel shopping for our 10,000 lbs Sportsmobile. I never knew this... but while shopping i noticed that all the steelies are good to say 2200lbs vs the Aluminum wheels rated same size for 3200 lbs.

I always thought it was the other way around.

Engineer experts.... why is this? (in Layman's terms please  )

I decided on Forged Alcoa wheels for my 10,000+ pound K3500 after I talked to truck drivers and heard all the stories of the abuse they can survive after a blowout. I have had mine for 10 years and would highly recommend them, Alcoa makes the aluminum wheels for several OEM trucks including Ford. The weight savings is huge over my steel "Dumptruck" rims, the weight can be felt when swapping rims for the winter and in the performance. Everytime I see a Ford F-350 that came stock with my same wheels in the winter I wish mine were clearcoated instead of bare polished aluminum...

It feels almost about the same. The difference is sitting way the hell up.. basically it feels like im sitting on my roof rack of the 80. I probably just need to get used to it.

Guys i went with a 17x8 Mojave Teflon and 315/70R17 BFG all terrains. Thanks for all the offers for wheels.

Looks sharp and I hope they do the job for you. Why do you need Teflon on wheels? I know it works great in my frying pan.

I don't. I could careless about the teflon aspect.. i just like the way they look and with my weight to wheel ratio.. i only had so many options. I even thought about teflon coating or powder coating some used wheels, but by the time i did that i was just about at the same price as these. ... its an added bonus to be able to cook eggs on your spare :)
