Baja 500

Thanks SO MUCH to all that came and showed their support. You guys made the entire trip an awesome adventure.

Regarding the race, unfortunately, Baja was not kind to our little FJ, and driver one had two catastrophic suspension failures. One before pit one and the second before pit two (where I was to take over).

We are already working on new plans, whether with the FJ or something else.

sorry to hear that, but just remember - there is always another baja...

plus I think this what a hard race on a lot vehicles since only less than half finished

I was by punta cabra and was looking for you guys, but never saw you and now I see why.

we had a great time watching the race, but it was pretty shocking to be listening to the live reports on weatherman channel on that poor guy who was dying in the ravine while an emt from bfg pit was racing over there to help him... my condolencies go out to his family and friends...

and I hope score international can work out a better plan on medical assistance during the race (for example a helicopter could not fly out there at night - what the f...???, there was no ambulance or even emt at the official score check point just a mile from the victim, etc.)

anyway, I'll post up my pics in a bit

Scott,
good effort. Its always a blast of a trip win, lose or break! I always assume the car will break the first couple races out. Gotta find the weak points somehow and it always works like that. Good luck on the next race! I would love to lend a hand if you need it!

I spoke to Goodtimes earlier tonight and heard the news. Sorry to hear the results, but glad to hear that all of you made it back safely and are preparing to fight another day...

Thanks to all - Miles and I had a great time. Miles took these photgraphs of where not to sit. This was captured at 4WDTO Pit 2.

This is what makes watching the Baja races so exciting. What is wrong in this photograph?

You got it. The trophy truck that is facing the wrong way did a 360 around that large bush behind him. He sherd(sp?) all the lug nuts off his driver rear wheel. Exciting, but dangerous.
