What a great trip, My brother and I were both virgins of BAJA and of this type of racing.
What an awesome group of people, it was nice to put faces with the names.
You all work so great together. Thanks to Matt for the race radio, I would never attend another without one, I can see where having two would be better to also listen to weatherman all the time would help.
Cain and his parents were the only one there when we arrived Thursday AM, and the first thing they said after they looked at my truck and said "PARTS" was want some coffee and some breakfast! What hospitality. And what a house, I read on this sight of how ya'all are roughing it out there, but now I see...........all I have been seeing when I close my eyes is life sized mermaid :Wow1:
After all the prep, I am relieved the work we did held together and performed as planned. With cuts on my hands and welding drops burned on my feet, I really had a blast.
Thanks to Scott for asking us along @ 11pm to pre-run part of the course @ Santo Tomas, now I know what a gully is:yikes:
Also what 12 inches of silt looks like following somebody up a hill with lights on.
We were in radio silence until 4 am over at pit # 3 area waiting and watching.
We did get to help Kreg Donahoe though. He lost his power steering pump and had fell into 2nd when his Crew Chief found James and I in our FJ's parked on the side of RM 186. He offered a set of Hoes for the pump and I said let's go. We ran up the road and there he was with a pit crew, we pulled over and helped switch out the pump. How he was racing without power steering was amazing. Cain and Mike came through RM 186 and we heard what had been going on @ around midnight. The FJ was running good then, they got some snacks and Dr Pepper and off they went. Then we went back and found Jonathan right where we left him 6 hours before. After the call at 4am from the BFG lady to go home we got a couple of hours sleep and met with Kreg Donahoe Sunday AM @ their hotel to switch back the power steering pump and then ran out to the beach house and you were all on the road.
Sorry we missed you all on Sunday AM.
We hung out out with Cain and Dave and friends for a few more hours then went into Ensenada and played, spent $$ bought souvenirs then drove home Monday
Again,
Thank you Scott for the invite!
Thank you all for the fun.
Thanks to James for the 101 on how to watch a Baja Race
Thanks to Jonathan for his patience.
Thanks to Matt for the Radio.
Thanks to David and Cain for letting us work on their FJ
and the food and Beer!

Thanks to All of Ya'll :wings:
