Baja California Norte 2005/6 (Not Scott's trip!)

A few pics from Brian (aka: wolfsoul over at 4wdtrips.net). I'm sure he'll have a trip report up on his site in the near future, as will Chcuk. Speaking of Chcuk, if you shake it more than 3 times, your playing with it. (see pics, you'll understand).

An interesting localized tidal flow can be seen in the last picture....there was little wind, the waves were created by the tide flowing out of the cove through the shallow area between the island and the coast. The current was strong enough that if you actually had to work at making headway, or it would just take you out to the gulf. The second to last pic is of the same area, earlier in the day, taken from the island.

:xxrotflma Wow, new desktop wallpaper! Thanks Chuck! (and Brian! I know I can't go wrong thanking "Brian" for the pic, since they are both named Brian. It's kind of like going on a trip with Darrel and Darrel).

You're trying to prove just how desolate that road is?

"Hey guys, watch this. I bet you a beer that nobody will come along before I am done... "

So, I never did get my permission letter from Toyota to take my truck to Baja. It was the first time I had ever inquired about one. I emailed them last week to find out why they never sent me the letter. Turns out, I had the lienholder wrong on the Mexican Insurance. I listed Toyota Financial Services. I assumed that was it, since that is how I write my checks. Turns out, it was supposed to be: Toyota Motor Credit Corp. (TMCC). Nice of them to simply blow it off rather than call me and let me know. Anyway, something I know now for the future and a FYI for others.

Just pay it off already...then you don't have to worry about it.

Oh, and finish your trip report.

I'll pay it off after Brazil.

I'll post up my trip report by Monday afternoon, just a few last minute edits left. Folks set the bar high around these parts so I have to run spell checker yet and what not. :hehe: Seriously, tomorrow afternoon. :ylsmoke:

2 problems (mistakes) Chuck. First, I was using a digital Rebel, not a 20D (I can only wish it was a 20D). Second, I never told you the +22 on the tide chart was 22' above the previous nights tide....I said it was +22' above the mean tide level....I left it up to you to define "mean tide level".

Oh, I also see you left out the part about you screaming like a little girl when the crab attacked you. Hence the phraze "scream like Chuck".

Now get back to work...you've wasted enough of my tax dollars! (insert smilie of some sort here).
