Well I thought it was about time that I started my build thread. So here it goes.
Planed: I plan on replacing the Timbren bumps with Cubby bump stops if I find them cheap enough.
Planed: I’m researching a dual battery system, possibly using a perfect switch isolator. Does anybody have any experience with these?
What’s there to say about them? They’re nice and solid.
I then add some action packers for organization and I’m working on dust proofing them. BTW these are the perfect height for the bed
i have a lot more but i'll get to that later.

Back ground
In September of 06 I bought a 07 double cab long bed as a replacement for a well worn in explorer. It was to be a DD that I could load my quad up on, go to the desert, and do some light wheeling. On my first wheeling trip with TTORA I busted the lower control arm and learned an important lesson. If I was planning on wheeling at all I would need protection. So I started the mods. Midway through my research I spotted this site. And decided an expedition truck was perfect for me. A slight change in plans and here I am, building my first expo truck.Plan
The plan was simple build a truck that can perform well off road, protect its guts, be self sustaining for a week at a time, have accessories to aid in travel/communication, and look as professional as possible. And to add to it, I wanted to keep the cost down as much as possible so I plan to buy as much used stuff as I could. I also plan to build a much stuff as I can.Suspension
Completed: For suspension I was looking for about 3 inches of lift, better load handling, and a keep simple enough to be bolt on. Up front I went with Donahoe coilovers, TC upper control arms, and Timbren bump stops. Out back I went with Donahoe resi’s, Dakar leaf springs (these would provide better load Handling), and Timbren bump stops.

Planed: I plan on replacing the Timbren bumps with Cubby bump stops if I find them cheap enough.
Under the hood
Completed: I wanted to keep it reliable so performance mods are limited. As of right now the only mod is an AFE cold air kit with their dry filter. I did this so I could clean the filter every time I changed the oil and it wouldn’t cost me so much.

Protection
Completed: So far the only thing I have Is a Demello hybrid sliders (weld on). What’s there to say about them? They’re nice and solid.

Storage
Completed: for starters I got a Diamond Back ATV tonneau cover that severs triple duty. The cover will keep the gear safe, act as transport for the quad, and be a sleeping platform.
