Matt, we were about 100 yards away from the bird and shooting with a 300mm lens with a 2x extender on the lens.

Believe me, I'm a firm believer about keeping my distance from the wildlife

I need a longer lens, the 70-200 just doesn't cut it.

I love shooting Osprey and they're one of the few birds who are so used to being right along the shore, its surprising how close you can get to them without them even caring or flying away

Some very nice shots here. Owls are so cool!

Here's a barred owl (I think) near the Coumbia River Gorge this past May.
