Well done with saving this beauty from the barn and what a good price!! Was the other one you bought beyond repair??

I had Land Rovers for 25 years and one of my favourite memories is driving my friends two door classic Range Rover, giving it soom boot down the motorway and listening to that sweet V8!!

Keep up the good work.

Yes the other one was just for parts. It had a lot of good parts. The body was pretty smashed up and in really bad shape. The transmission had a crack in it. The engine and transfer case were in great shape. I sold the engine and a bunch of other parts from the parts truck, then I recycled the rest of it. I used the T-Case in my RRC. Everything has been working great. I drive it all the time and let my Disco sit in the garage until I need it for 4 wheeling. I've almost made back as much as I paid for both vehicles.

The RRC cruises down the highway really nicely. I just need to figure out why the cruise control won't work. And then I'll have a tip top RRC finally. I'm still amazed at how well everything works on this truck. Must have been a Tuesday built truck.

Does the RRC use the same garbage ECU as the D1? I went through too many CC ECU's and they all didn't work. Finally grabbed one from a D2 and wired it to plug into my D1. Had working CC for about a year now and it's great!

I think it might. i guess I could grab the one off my D2 to see what the difference is

I checked the vacuum lines and replaced all the crapped out ones. The vacuum pump is also working. I guess the only thing left is the computer.

I put some 7" round LED headlights in my RRC. HOLY CRAP! They are awesome! So much better than the old crappy sealed beams. And they look good. The pattern is very nice and has a really nice cut off.

Heads are off. I dropped them off at the machine shop today to get resurfaced. Cylinders look great. I can still see cross hatching in them. Camshaft looks good as well.

No, mine had metal headgaskets, I'm keeping it that way.

Just got the heads back from the machine shop. He didn't have to do much to them! Said they looked great. So, I'll replace the valve seals, and put it back together. Can't wait. I've missed driving it for the last 4 days.
