That map pocket on your wolf man bag looks like it might fit an Ipad, although having a visible place for a hard copy map is probably pretty nice.

KLR looks great! I like everything except the tall windscreen you had on an earlier post. Latest post shows a cut down one and I like that one much better!

I would hit my head on the taller one numerous times on a ride I'm sure.

I'd opt for a skidplate. The one on there looks a little flimsy? Mine has numerous dings and scrapes on it. Much cheaper than new cases! :bike_rider:

Took me three tries to get through the whole thread. I kept getting side tracked with this farkle and that.

I like it. The black really changed it. Quite a bike you have there. Maybe some day we will bump into each other...maybe I should rephrase that? Share a trail.

Skimmed through, did I miss any suspension mods? I've got the same bike with the HT armor set up and Jesse cases. Not bad but needs work in the suspension department. Done the carb mods yet?

No mods but what you see - suspension and engine are all bone stock.

Carb mods? Link please!

The suspension is a pretty cost effective upgrade from what I hear. I'm definitely going with a more stout rear spring in the future, probably progressive fork springs too. As for the engine, do you burn any oil? Mine seems to go through a quarts every 1k miles or so. Quite irritating, making me think about a 685 kit.

The carb mods are easy and cheap, I ended up spending about $21 including the fancy fuel screw from Happy Trails. The three easy ones are swapping in an adjustable fuel screw, drilling the slide, and shimming the needle. Here's the thread: http://www.klr650.net/forums/showthread.php?t=41112
They limit bandwidth so I'd look at it at an off time, I couldn't get it to load this morning. Basic knowhow, tools, and an hour of your time and it'll run better.

Lookin good. Just skimmed thru for now but looks good from what I saw.

We'll have to set up another ExPo ride one day soon. I just recently picked up a 2004 KLR and have begun the farkeling. Hoping to have side cases on in time for Labor Day weekend. Want to plan a 3 day riding/fly fishing trip up to the eastern sierra.

If anyone else wants to go, by the way, im solo right now.

No oil burning at all that I can tell.

Looks like easy mods, is there a source for the required parts? It would be worthwhile to buy them vice trying to piece those bits together ala carte.

I swapped mine out today. Happy-Trail is almost local for me. This makes adjustments much easier. Good thing that I did too as mine was bent. I didn't really notice a problem, but it should be much better now :D

My family lives in Boise, I dropped about a grand in there right after I got my KLR on a trip back home. Really cool guys, very helpful and fun to chat with. I was there for at least an hour just BSing about bikes and trips. They also have some really good deals on gear sometimes.
