A little update on the tires.
Had a few inches of snow the day before yesterday, but the big thing was the icy road conditions. It's been about 22 and below for most of the day and I can say that the tires work extremely well on the roads in these conditions.
My opinion only, and this is only really the first time in these conditions, but after three winters on BFG/AT's, I feel these tires beat them hands down. When it's icy out, I usually have to put it in 4WD to get up my driveway, and I usually slide out when mounted with the AT's. Made it out without sliding and went up several times today in 2WD. I attribute that to the siping probably. Much more substantial than the AT's. Different tread pattern of course too. Another problem I had with the AT's was the rear sliding when taking off from a stop in icy road conditions (2WD). No problem what so ever yesterday and today with the DuraTracs. There are also a couple of steeper roads I go up to get to one of my rental properties which I have been working at. If it's icy or has packed snow, 4WD with the AT's, yesterday and today, 2WD with the DuraTracs.
I am very pleased so far. I'm waiting for more severe weather. We will have icy roads again tomorrow, as the forecast is for about 0 degrees, but no snow in the forecast.
I'm running about 32 psi, with minimal weight in the back. Just some hand tools.
I'll keep you posted.
