How did you mount that tablet you have inside?? I want to do that with an Ipad or a tablet mounted to a hd cam to record wheeling trips and use for topo maps.

He bolted to the little cubby to the side of the gear selector. I think its been a while since I've seen it. The shaft leading to the platform is flexible if memory serves me. I actually just added laptop mounts to my XK parts link in my sig if you want to check some store bought ones out.

I can not recall the manufacturer, I will look for it.
As Sal said, I put the base in the hole next to the shifter and has a flexible
12" shaft. For the base, I used an old clipboard, cut to shape and mounted
that to the other end of the shaft.

I have a Dell Mini that sits on the board & made 2 U clips. One end mounts
on the board [ laptop ] like that. I slide the Mini under the brackets and
that holds it on. I have used it off road a number of times, no problems.

I used Skype video conference once driving down to Va. It's cool.
I tethered my Blackberry to it before. Now I have a MiFi. I have uploaded
videos to youtube from a trail.....stopped of course.....and chatted on the
forum ( yes while driving). But I dont text while I drive. Texting interferes
my reading.

I also have the tablet. The LS800 tablet has a docking station. I bolted the
docking station onto a piece of old clipboard. It's 1/4" masonite I think.
The mount goes from the clipboard to the shaft. I just slip the Tablet into
the docking station.

The Tablet will stay in my ZJ. No stereo, radio, cd, ...all on the tablet so I
can use the dash holes for CB; Ham, Inclinometer etc.

The Mini I can use it in the XK when i want it.

Panvise makes the mount I am using.

This is a solid mount I use for the tablet. You can see the square base, there are
2 like this.

The slotted piece I had a cell mount when I tethered to my blackberry.
Now I have a MiFi

Back of the tablet mount holding the docking station.

This is the base mounted in the Commander. I had to cut it down to fit, but I
cut too much off. Should have a 3rd screw in it to stablize more.

Flex rod for Dell Mini laptop, attached to the tablet. Just for the pic.

This is a 3/4 Axe. Little easier to fit on my rack and easier to handle.

I will add to this when I finish my mount....

For quite a while, I wanted a plug for jumper cables instead of the usual cable clamps.
Here is what I did....

I bought 2 ANDERSON,50A ,CONNECTOR KITS, SB50A, 600V,BLACK, on ebay. I paid less than $8 for the pair.

I soldered the ends of the cables to the battery clamps;
didn't like crimped on the wire ends.

Lifted Plate - you can see where I drilled through to run the cable.
Routed it along side the bumper and attached to an existing harness.

I used zip ties to hold the key to the switch so I don't lose the key. I also
mounted the switch with zip ties.

Zip tie mount is a temporary solution....or not.....

I used towing 4pin plugs for lights so I could just unplug it and take my roof basket off. I like that plug you got better but I need more connections then two. Do you have a link? Do they come with more connection?
