Honestly I prefer to support US made products.
I prefer to support well made products regardless of origin. :) I'm as big a fan of US products as the next guy but there's some excellent non-US stuff out there and you're short-changing yourself if you don't at least check out your options IMO.

It's that time of year! It doesn't take much to get yourself stuck in the snow and you want to be prepared to get yourself out with a winch from ComeUp. Just in time for the holidays, get your truck a Christmas present and get a ComeUp winch installed so you can keep going no matter what the conditions. Photo Credit: Seth Jacobsen -Adventure Driven. Does ComeUP have a winch that will fit in the place of a 8274 with forward mount? I don't want to swap out my bumper.

Are you looking for an upright winch design (like the 8274) or just for feet forward mounting? The non-integrated solenoid models (i.e. Seal 9.5rs etc) can be mounted with the feet forward and the motor can be rotated 90* to keep the clutch handle on top. If you are looking specifically for an upright model, the ComeUp Blazer winch is an upright design similar to the 8274. The Blazer has dual motors, is faster, more powerful than the Warn. The mounting points are slightly wider however. Let us know if you have other questions.
.
For your Van I would suggest the Seal Gen 2 12.5rs

or possibly the 16.5rs if you feel like you need the extra power.

.
Both of those links should have a diagram showing how the motor is rotated for feet forward mounting.

Maybe you recently saw the Feature Article published here on Expedition Portal about Mowgli - The Unimog. http://expeditionportal.com/featured-vehicles-mowgli-the-unimog/ Here at ComeUp we're always grateful for stories from our customers about how our winches have helped them in recovery situations. The great people at Mowgli-Adventures http://mowgli-adventures.com shared this incredible story with us of a recent self-recovery in Morrocco using a ComeUp DS-9.5 winch on Mowgli. Once again, ComeUp winches are trusted to get adventurers out of sticky situations and back to safety! Thanks Mowgli-Adventures for sharing this story with us and for using ComeUp winches!! Please take a look at their story here on our ComeUp blog! You can follow more of Mowgli-Adventures on their FB page.

I have to agree. I have had my Warn for almost 15 years and I am happy with it but competition is a good thing. It is good to see there is a legit competitor out there.

Thanks for the info. Neither of the winches will fit. They are too wide. The Blazer looks cool, but the mounting is too wide as well.

I will just build up a 8274 to replace the Bellview that is on there. Thanks!
