Crossing the Andes

It is the new HEMA 5" model. One of three prototypes. The mapping is limited for South America, but US topos are easy, as is any other map you would like to scan in for Ozi Explorer. Essentially, there are three programs available. Route 66, which is a turn-by-turn street nav. app., OziExplorer and Memory Map, which has map sets for many countries of the world, and are stored on Micro SD cards.

So far, I love the big screen. It also has provision for a video camera input, like for a back-up camera - slick.

Read in some OZ magazines about the Hema GPS, seems like a nice navigation system, especially if there is cartography for South America :)

Thanks for the comments all :D

We had a wonderful trip, but are left wanting for so much more. In reality, I could move to Chile and live there the rest of my life. Buy a 110 and explore that great continent.

Hey Scott, next time try southern Chile , Patagonia, Carretera Austral , etc,, you'll love it, its like the Yukon with better climate and no grizzlies and no critters... don't you have more pics to share ?

Cheers !!

Next time you head south, contact us, we would like to meet up... And if any heavy duty testing of that GPS unit is required in South America.... We hate asphalt... :)

Adventurous greetings,
Coen
