The Swiss said:I am director of sales for a company making OEM components for the automotive industry. "Foreign" car is not really a problem; besides the big 3, we also supply Nissan, Honda, Toyota and from next year on also Kia. Driving a Tacoma would not be a problem at all as the domestic part content (parts supplied by US suppliers) is 60%. The 4 Runner being 100% Japanese built is a problem. Just on a side note: One of the most American built cars is the Honda Accord with about 83%; the Ford Mustang has I think about 54% domestic part content.
Good point. My 12 year old son actually just told me the same thing. My RTT is right now on my trailer, but depending on the trip it would be nice putting it back on the roof.grahamfitter said:If you want to put anything on the roof remember the Jeep doesn't have one so you'll be needing a heavy, noisy and expensive external rack.
IMHO while a 4runner is way more refined and way more practical, I found driving one on the road to be boring beyond belief so I'd get the Jeep anyway.
Is an Xterra off the list?
Cheers,
Graham
We ALWAYS look for good people, especially for engineering and production. However, no position open that would come with company car. Our power tool department looks for good sales people; that job does come with a company car, but it is the same company car you are already driving now, a Chevy fullsize van. It is really boring to drive all the way from SoCal to Moab, only stopping for gas and arriving fresh and unfatigued, and with gas money left in my wallet... It is truly terrible to be able to have a non-shouted conversation or listen to the radio at a reasonable volume.........:bike_rider:
See how bored I look after driving my 4Runner hundreds of miles to Death Valley? :sport_box
