Kurt, you can get Luna products? Do you have pricing on their battery monitors? I'd like to hook one up to my dual batt system. Their site doesnt show pricing... plus they're in Africa.
www.equipt1.com is where mine came from...

Equipt retails them, I keep a couple in stock just for local installs, if Paul is out of them I can sell you one, but check with him first. I will be retailing them in the future, but they won't show up on the website for another couple of weeks?

What kind of modifications did you have to do to make the battery tray fit? I have the tray and am waiting on the Slee bottle relocator kit.

Thanks

What would you like a picture of? The National Luna system is just the controller base, it doesn't include a second battery mount. In fact that is really the hardest part of the conversion, the wiring and setup IMO is the fun part. Moody has it easy with the 80 Series, its as easy as a stop to the dealership and relocating your washer bottle (such as with the Slee kit). Mount the Luna intelligent solenoid (~6" x 6") and fish the controller into the cab (~1/2" hole needed). Then, using the supplied cables and fuses, connect it all. I build my own cables in some cases, rather than using the standard "clamp" style battery terminals, however the kit comes with high quality terminals and cable. LMK on the pics...

Kurt,
I am looking for a solution for my FJC. Debating between the "solenoid" vs "solid state".
The pics that would provide an idea of installation of the various components.
From what I understand the Luna kit is fairly complete....

The washer bottle must be out of the way. You could probably move it and bungee it to the side of the airbox, or take it out completely until your kit gets there. The wires that run to the pump must be lengthened, so you figure that is the limitation of placement... The side of the battery tray that is next to the radiator must be cut a bit to make it fit. I used a power saw, and it ate up two blades. I probably cut more than I needed to, but I plan on replacing the little foam piece that it came with to fill in the gap. I will take some pictures this weekend during the remaining install process.

I know it's not the best way of trimming the battery tray but I used diaganol cutters. If you do it carefully it will come out clean. Be aware that when you make a cut a crack could run more than you want to. So take it slowly. Mine came out really accurate.

oooh pretty! Makes my marine style look vintage.

What are those two black plastic things above the solenoid and below ? Inline fuse?

Moody,
It would be great if you could post pics of your install - since I am thinking of doing the same thing.
Thx.
