Made another step towards hopefully making this trip. I ran the truck to FL last weekend and the Uniroyalpeicesofjunks about rattled our teeth out. Not out of balance either. At about 60mph they come out of round. So this accelerated my tire purchase and I found a really great deal.

Do you know how many 33 x 12.5's you can get in a 1st Gen 4Runner?

8 LOL

I am running over to Costco in a few minutes to get the bald 33's off the rims I will be using and the nearly new set of 33x12.5x15 AT KO's mounted. I picked up the from set for $350 including 2 spares. :sombrero: So Saturday we will see just how much pounding the floor takes to fit these with no lift. :smilies27

Actually the truck is getting a 4Crawler.com 2 inch body lift, a 1 inch ball joint spacer, 2 inch drivetrain lift, 2 inch tank lift and longer shackles in the next couple weeks.

Ah yes, the diapers... Now that you mention it, mine didn't go camping until we were through that...

I believe that was, in fact, their first overnight camping trip. I gave them two dry runs in the backyard before we took it on the road. They sure do grow up fast. One I can barely lift off the ground and the other I can barely keep up with his tricks!

Yes, you were with us; Steve and Jandy pulled that trip together much like this one we're working now. Ah yes, there you are...

I don't know how old your boys are now, Paul, but my kids (9 & 10) will be there. They like to go geocaching (treasure hunt; like pirates!).

Dropping off the Jeep at the stealership this week and telling them to "JUST FIX IT!" so hopefully it'll be in tip top shape for the trip.

If this one works out we should plan an east coast expo trophy event for next year ;)

They're 7 and 9 and yes, geocaching is in their blood.

Thanks for letting me know - they'll be glad to have some kids around!

Thats how i remember Chris...even a tad younger. I hear he's having trouble getting into his wardrobe as of late tho...(arent we all!?) :shakin:

There are a few variables for me around this trip. I MAY leave sunday for another week elsewhere.

I MAY arrive a few days earlier in WV.

I MAY stay for a few days after the gathering.

I MAY not make this trip at all, might end up out west someplace.

I'm being pulled in several directions at the moment, try'n to figure a way to have it all. :costumed-smiley-007

What is it about this trip that makes it difficult to solidify? It's still on, of course, but there has been alot of participant fluctuation since the very beginning. I suspect there are supernatural forces at work - spirits communing with us on a subconscious level, silently urging us to establish other plans. Could it be for our well-being?

For instance, I just noticed John's "maybe-backing-out" post was on the 13th page of the thread - for a trip that begins on Friday the 13th ... of October, no less! Only weeks before Samhain!

What is going to happen to us when we do go? What lives in those woods? This trip is cursed.

OK, now being a recently established West Virginian let me say that nothing like "Wrong Turn" ever happened in WV. Those vehicles don't have enough rust and the women have too many teeth...

Long story short. I returned back to work after surgery and company relocated to Maryland, they renig'd on their promise to reimburse me my travel expenses of $200+ week. I had no choice but to resign... Just found out they are fighting my UC benefits. Sorry Guys...really.

Hope evryone has a blast...and tip a few for me. I WILL be at the next one....that we'll start planning right after you guys get back!
