I have to pull out guys.....i'm actually not gonna be able to go anywhere.

Long story short. I returned back to work after surgery and company relocated to Maryland, they renig'd on their promise to reimburse me my travel expenses of $200+ week. I had no choice but to resign... Just found out they are fighting my UC benefits. Sorry Guys...really.

Hope evryone has a blast...and tip a few for me. I WILL be at the next one....that we'll start planning right after you guys get back!

Sorry to hear that, John. That's not cool of your former employer. Hope you get things sorted out! We'll be thinking of ya, and look forward to getting out with ya sometime soon! :friday:

Yes, John, we are all sorry you won't be there. I'm rather excited to actually meet all these people I've been talking to all this time; and sorry we won't be able to meet John this time around. Hope you get everything situated soon and maybe we can do this as an annual event.

How about "box social"? :D

The thread has quieted down since the trip solidified. Everyone still out there and excited for the trip? :)

Starting to plan foods to pack. Beverages. Some places I've needed to bring my own firewood. Yeah, I'm still in.:camping:

I'm still in

I am still planning on going.

As for wood, there is some dead wood laying around the site and the IGA and a couple places in Davis sells bundles of firewood for reasonable prices. For the weight it represents, I plan to get it on my way through town. Matter of fact, I probably will make a shopping list for the grocery store and pick up most of my food there too. That way I can use my cooler to transport something else - my sleeping bag usually fits!

I still plan to attend and still very excited. A bit concerned that school stuff's going to hit the fan about that time but we shall see. Going to put the hard top back on the jeep this weekend and make a sleeping platform.

Carl, I thought you weren't going to worry about school since we'll all be there to help you study! By the time we're through you'll know everything!(or nothing)

If you can reschedule for 2008, add my name to the list. I've been following this thread with interest because I am from NoVa but now reside in San Diego. Unfortunately I wasn't into wheeling while living in VA, but I can't wait to move back and hit up some east coast trails (moving back Jan of '08). Funny thing, I have a ski cabin on six acres in Canaan Valley. If this event becomes an annual thing we could always base camp at my cabin. Plenty of room for vehicles and their drivers. Then again, that wouldn't be roughing it, would it??
