If you wanna sell it in the next 4-5 months, especially with low apr's coming soon to the dealerships, and a recession soon to hit, I'd lower it.

Thanks Brian

All excellent points! Price lowered to $15,500

Thanks

No, it has not, that and the PHH are the ONLY things that have not been done. The PHH looks to be in brand new condition (possibly replaced by PO) and i am not convinced on replacing a head gasket as "Preventive Maintenence"

Thanks

agreed. head gaskets are a case by case.

any mechanic would tell you that,

unless you own a VW bus or a bmw Z3...lol.

TRUCK IS SOLD!!!

Thanks Guys!

Thanks Kevin! I was only able to get this purchase past my wife was because of the outfitting and attention to detail that has gone into this truck. I'm a little bummed because half the fun of buying something is building it up, and there is literally nothing left to be done. But if I were to do a build it would probably wind up exactly like Kevin has done.

The purchase went smooth, Kevin was even nice enough to fill both tanks for us (and at SoCal gas prices, that's a pretty big bite out of the wallet).

We plan on doing a couple shake down cruises and then we're taking the month of May off and just letting the 80 take us where it wants to go.

And sorry Kevin, but I had to make some small changes...

Kevin transferred the rights to the plate to me when we registered it. He could have kept it, but didn't seem to mind it going with the truck.

Awesome purchase! I'm a bit jealous for sure! :shakin:

Bjorn

The cards seem to just fall into place...I poke around this site now and then to see if anything interesting pops up, I haven't been really aggressively looking. I've been waiting for the right Landcruiser to come along, and I couldn't believe it when I saw Kevin's up for sale and when I emailed him it turned out he was only about 5 miles from my house, and I had just sold my motorcycle and freed up a bunch of cash so the timing could not have been better.

I don't think my efforts live up to your standards. It was a rattle can in the backyard job. Tape off around the edge of the tire at the wheel with wide blue masking tape and use a piece of cardboard to prevent overspray.
I like the rattlecan approach over powdercoating because it's cheaper and easier (no need to remove the tires), and any touchups only require a quick blast from the can. The same paintjob has lasted three years on my wife's MINI and she has rubbed a curb or two.

The four wheels on the vehicle came out fine, the wheel on the spare had a bit of surface pitting so it's kind of rough. You can take a look at the 80 and see if you still want to do the 100. I'm happy for the $8 in cost and the hour or two it took to do it. I'd be more than happy to lend a hand if you decide to make the change.
