Kevin,

The price is good considering your criteria. Mostly that you are patient. A higher priced, unique offering just needs the right buyer, which can take a while. Then again, I have had crazy custom vehicles sell the day I put the sign on them (usually people who already know me and the vehicle).

My truck will (most likely) be up for sale in the next 30-45 days.

Thanks for the feedback Scott!

Much appreciated! I am in no rush, so i will wait for the right buyer.

Selling the Taco huh? Will there be a Moto in your near future? :D

Your Taco will make someone very very happy!

You never get out what you put in. Modifications used are worth 50% for resale. Sometimes more on a unique vehicle.

1993 80 136K in excellent condition 8K - 10K
Modifications 8K @ 1/2 = 4K

Has the head gasket been changed?

I posted it for sale awhile ago before the repaint, etc... and i got DOZENS of emails from folks asking to buy this part and that part, etc.... I dont have time to deal with that. Its not being parted out, plain and simple.

What??? Who would do such a thing? After all this time I don't want the bumper. :gunt:
(just the rack) :shakin:

I, however, can vouch for how clean the rig is and how meticulous Kevin has been with this beast. The paint job is better than factory.

In all seriousness though, how difficult would it be to sell the tent with say... a full-price offer. Or maybe Baja Overland could give a discount on a different model. I only say the second comment because RTT's can be a personal choice (brand, size, etc).

I think the price point at 19K sounds good. And like others have mentioned... patience grasshopper.

Just be careful with the Tundra, you'll be loosing the comfy 80 series seats. At least I know the older Tundra seats are on par with the Taco seats. But maybe the new ones are better.

Good luck!

Didn't see this:
I think you forgot to mention the custom overhead guage/aux. fuel thingy.

Kevin,

I wouldn't say you are on crack, but I'd say you are high...

On the price. A bit.

On the plus side, your truck is in great shape and it's expo white too.

No, it has not, that and the PHH are the ONLY things that have not been done. The PHH looks to be in brand new condition (possibly replaced by PO) and i am not convinced on replacing a head gasket as "Preventive Maintenence"

Thanks

... but for a 93 80 with the mods listed it seems about 8-10k high.
For an Expedition rig that did not spend it's life in the rust belt the model year is not that significant. 136kmls on a Cruiser is just a little bit past 'broken-in" and if it is in as good condition as you say and all the wear items have been replaced, I think your asking price is about right.

My only suggestion is to ad some interior pics, also of the worn seats so somebody can get a clear picture, but also of the luggage compartment. Just my 0.02 centimes

Good luck!

Thank you! I agree 100% Every single wear item on this truck is BRAND new OEM Toyota!

Good luck dude. Hope you get what you want for it. There's always a buyer out there, you just have to find em. I put one of my rigs on Ebay and put a crazy high 'buy it now'. Well, some rich dude with a wild hair up his __ wanted it , and wanted it now. So guess what? It sold within hours and for more than i ever imagined. Just hang tight and eventually it may happen. Could take a year though.

Patience is key. Personally, I think you're starting right. I bet it would be snapped up pretty quick at $16K though...at $19K...I'd be bargaining with you for the tent to be thrown in....a "total" package, so to speak; ready to head for the DMV and then Mexico...

Bargaining is an option, but being harassed by low ballers isnt!, No, this isnt directed @ you, just a general comment! :)

I am open to SERIOUS offers!

Ebay COULD be a good idea, but i would prefer to keep it in the EXPO family of people "in the know" so i am not spending several hours a day answer questions from stangers on Ebay! :D

Kevin,

I've had positive results on selling both of my 80s on Ebay. One the guy hit the buy it now on 3 days of a 10 day auction. He's pleased with his purchase. And I was pleased with the result as my Buy It Now was a higher than I thought I could get. My other 80 I sold off of Ebay, but not through Ebay. The buyer contacted me and made me an offer prior to the end of the auction. His offer was higher than my reserve. I didn't end the auction until I received the funds. He next day'd them to me. Go all out on the ad. Lots of pictures, scenery shots, detail shots, etc... I had Cruisermon list mine for me. He did an awesome job.

Personally, I wouldn't pay that much for that 80. That doesn't mean anything though as I'm generally really cheap. But with that said, I really think you have a good possibility of getting it. There are fewer and fewer low mileage 80s out there. And the lower mileage ones are really bringing a premium. Of course there are a lot of cheap ratted out 80s out there for 4k-6k, that doesn't necessarily mean that all 80s are in the toilet for market value.

I will also say that if you are going to get top dollar you need to get those little things cleared up. I think I might have a fuse panel cover. I'll dig in the garage tomorrow. Spending a little to make the leather look great is a wise investment in time and money to get top dollar.

Good luck!

gonna have to agree with the others, kevin.

I'd probably pay $13-15k at the most for that, as i can find 130k 80's in the
$7-8k range, all day in the auto trader.

If you wanna sell it in the next 4-5 months, especially with low apr's coming soon to the dealerships, and a recession soon to hit, I'd lower it.

thats what i'd tell a friend who asked anyways, just in case you weren't asking me...lol.

EDIT: heres a 95 with 134,000 miles for 7900.00. no lockers but i could put detroits in for what? 1500.00?

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.j...ors=&transmission=&max_price=20000&cardist=10

here's a 97 with 140k for 10,000....

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.j...oors=&transmission=&max_price=20000&cardist=9

just some numbers to chew on.
