Expeditions West: 2004 Toyota Tacoma Double-Cab

Scott Brady

Founder
Well, with the XV-JP in the works and our trip plans for South America, so the need for a second (major) expedition vehicle is tenuous. Our Tacoma is very young in Toyota years, but needs to move on to a new home.

This vehicle is in perfect condition and could leave for a round-the-world expedition from my driveway tomorrow. There are no notable issues, only some minor use wear and light appearance scratches and scrapes. This vehicle was design, built and maintained at the highest standards because our use of the vehicle demanded it.

Price: $35,000 (no trades considered)
Current Miles: 72,000

IMPORTANT NOTE: Will not sell any accessories separately or remove parts to reduce price. Sold as a complete expedition vehicle only.

Some wear consistent with mileage
As a precaution, I am having all ball joints changed to new

The truck starts and runs perfectly. Always receives Mobil1 fluids and has oil testing with each change by Mobil1 engineers. The truck drives and handles better than stock/new and gets a consistent 16-17 mpg if driven at 70mph or less.

Which part of the back seat did you remove (short or long side)? Any pics of the bed and interior?

Originally, I removed the back seat and installed a fridge mount and drawer system.

I have since reinstalled the back seat because the vehicle is more functional with it in.

The seat is unmodified.

Time flies!!! Seems like just yesterday when we met on the WRT in 2004 and your Tacoma was still in it's early phases of mods.

Good luck with the sale, someone is getting a heck of a vehicle. :bigbossHL:

This is a sad day for the Tacoma community. I'll go out on a limb and say your truck has been a major influence on many people's decision to purchase and build their Tacoma. Seeing what you've done with your Tacoma over the years has been a huge indirect marketing boost for Toyota trucks. Toyota should have been paying you big $$ for your work.

I certainly hope it has the same affect on Earthroamer, although it just won't be the same for me.

You gonna shed a tear or two when she goes?

Good luck with the sale.

Ditto!

Hope someone here gets her!

I think a requirement of who buys this sweet rig is to keep us posted on her travels here on the ExPo!

With how well this truck and been built and maintained, PLUS all those accessories included this is a GREAT buy.

Fly-in, jump in the truck and tour anywhere.
