Yeah that is a good idea! Oh wait I call all the time and just get the same answer, it will be in next week. I'am not whinig just stating my situation, and the problems I'am having with shipping! If someone is going to post on here that they are offering free shipping, they should fix all the other shipping problems first!
This is the reason if your local walk in the door or call us and ask for something we do not have we do not take your money. We do not control our suppliers' companies, nor their distribution. We fight to get it as soon as we can to make every one of our customers happy. The way I see it, is that if we took your money or took a down payment on the parts at that point we are 100% responsible, and since we don't control that part until it gets to us it is only fair to exchange money at that point.

And if I were to post an ad here for my business and I had an unhappy customer, I would expect them to call me out if I had not taken care of there problem!
I have offered the part at cost to you, which means that we will be taking a loss on selling the part to you. I was pretty sure that this resolved a part of your customer satisfaction, and was the best solution to the issue at hand. I apologize that it is still not to your satisfaction.

Stop being so thin skinned and take the criticism like a man!
If this was directed to me, I actually encourage criticism. We can only learn from the criticism that is perceived as negative, and make improvements so that it does not happen again; whereas the positive criticism shows us what we have done correctly and should continue to do.

Great shop, just wish they would call you back! Ordered parts a few times and it takes them for ever to get it and when it does come in they dont call!!! Still waiting for my 4ft awning, its only been like 3 months!?!? Maybe longer! Kind of ****ty way to run a business! Just saying.

I've been a customer of Sierra Expeditions for a number of years and never had anything but prompt and outstanding service from them. Your situation sounds like an anomaly.

Its funny, that you say that, cause I can go into 4wheelparts, and have that same awning in 1 week! And the last 1 I ordered from you guys that took 2 months they could of had in 4-5 days! Sounds like excuses to me!

Unfortunately this is the truth of big corporate entities vs. Small mom and pop's. 4wp has a huge network, if they don't have something it will likely be sourced from one of Their warehouses or other stores (if a vendor is on back order). Not to mention the preferential treatment they get from the vendors due to their size and volume.

The fact that Wil won't take your money until he physically has the part is very refreshing in an industry that generally thrives on spending other peoples money. If the customer is told 2 months, and someone else can get it in a week, its the customers choice to wait. Its also their choice to support the little guy. But don't blame the shop if you knew everything going in. If you were told a week and then a week, etc. Still your choice to wait, but not such good business.

Not really sure this thread is the place for the discussion though.

Thanks for the discount Wil! It was the push that prompted me to pull the trigger on the Max-Trax I've been drooling about for a while.

As for mykdee (I can imagine what the "dee" stands for.), I find it rather despicable (especially for a small business owner) to critisize a business after they have made a reasonable attempt to satisfy you and offer a discount as ammends for your bad experience. I would only hope for karma to come around and bash you and your business in the same way.
