Gen 2.5 Fuel Tank cracked

Just in case someone else runs into this problem, I've heard great things about Dragon's Blood.

I've never personally used it, but I've used plenty of Caswell's plating kits for other stuff (nickel electroplating, cobalt electroless plating, etc). They offer pretty good technical support and I was always impressed with their products.

Well, I've been so busy lately that I haven't updated this thread since forever. Anyhoo, the leak is back. Came back about a week after I thought I'd fixed it smh.

I've tracked it down to the seam where the upper and lower halves are welded together. My Land Cruiser buddy said he'd had the same leak in his 80 Series' tank, and that there was a factory recall from Toyota that hooked him up with a free, brand-new tank. I called the closest Mitsubishi dealer, giddy with anticipation, to have them check their computer and see if there was such a recall, by chance, for my Montero. Nope. Guy said I was the first time he'd ever heard of a Monty tank leaking.

I'll be dropping the tank next month when the new shipment of POR-15 gets to the Kodiak Napa. Getting HAZMAT onto the island takes an act of Congress (and thats probably putting too much faith in Congress). In the meantime, we just don't put more than 8 gallons in from empty.

I dropped a tank from a 1993 down at the local junk yard...the tank and fuel pump mount hole are identical, but the vent setup was completely different.

That looks like some good stuff! Unfortunately, I'm on Kodiak and pretty much at the mercy of whatever the local companies already bring to the island. Trying to het any HAZMAT shipped out here is almost impossible...most places won't even talk about it with me.
