Great Expo Pants

Mountain Khaki Alpine Utility Pant

I've worn Filson, Carharrt, Levis, Wranglers, BDU's, etc. These pants are a cut above the rest IMO.

The Mountain Khaki alpine utility pants are hands down the best outdoor type pants I've ever had. Comfortable, tough, and you can wear them a week straight in the woods and still look presentable when you go into town - try that with jeans... jeans start feeling nasty after two days, the MK's wear really well and the way they are made leads me to believe they will last years and years. I just bought a second pair in a different color because with two pairs of these I'm set for years on any trip I might ever take.

Now, at $79 a pair I have to tell you I didnt buy them as I normally wouldn't pay that much for pants - I was given a pair for volunteering at an event and having tried them it made a believer out of me. Good pants are right there with quality footwear IMO and are often overlooked.

Has anyone tried any 5.11 gear? I tried a pair of their Tac-lite pants, liked them so much that I now have six pair of them. 65% polyester/35% cotton poly blend in a rip-stop weave. Multiple pockets and belt loops, knee pockets for padded inserts, good stuff goes on and on (seven different colors too). Check out 5.11 tactical website for full info. But...if you go to lapolicegear.com you'll find them for $10 less per pair (how's $39.95 per pair sound) and free shipping on two of them. Now, I have no connection with them but I really most of their stuff. Just wanted to put in my two cents.

I live in 511 Tactical pants. Love the pockets, the wear and the fit. The black work great for when I am working, I can move in them and they look good. The fleece lined are great for cold weather. Price is a little high but they stand up to the abuse. Have a Tac-lite but find they are very cool. Good for hot weather, never got to wear them this year as the weather was too cool.

I have a black pair of the 5.11s I bought from Gall's around three or four years ago.
Very nice, but I went to buy another pair before I got my Railriders, and they changed the makeup of them, I like the old nylon ones better.
The ones I saw were all cotton, and I am getting away from that for camping trips.

Cotton is good for work, but I like nylon better for weekends.
So far these Railriders are the ticket for me.
