I'm not a ford guy so I can't answer those questions for you. What I can give you is the free advice that is worth what you pay for it. Your wheelbase and break over angle is the only concern I have in full size rigs. You already fixed the break over with the lift. I prefer a shortbed crew cab in a pickup(hunting partner has 05 chev 2500). I drive a suburban for the family trips. I live in the PNW and service logging equipment in the woods with a KW T370 11foot service body. I've made some wrong turns and some correct turns that sent me down old roads that many consider expedition wheeling trails.
Advise:
If the long bed is a hindrance than take it off and build the perfect bed and wheelbase for your application. The front half of your truck is awesome IMO. Leather, power options, climate control, diesel, and the best of all its paid for right? More cash for upgrades and trips! :wings:
