Homemade Pelican Area Lighting System

Has anyone tried to create a DIY version of one of the pelican area lighting units? I love the idea but their prices are way too much. I've been thinking of possibly using a Rigid Q series diffused light along with some sort of battery system in a pelican type case. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Just trying to get some input before I start shopping around for components.

For a while now I have been using a lithium jump pack and led work light as emergency lighting for power outages.

Utilitech Pro 1-Light 10-Watt LED Portable Work Light http://www.lowes.com/pd_580828-43921-MPL1004-LED10K840_?productId=50196411

Both items are dual use. The lithium pack has been used to power the light as well as jump start a car and my lawn mower. The led light is 12v and 110 so it works at home and away.

The quick fist idea is a lot simpler than what i was thinking. I was trying to find a way to modify a pelican case to accept a pole, like possibly a slot in which the pole slides into. But the quick fists definitely make it simpler and more versatile.

Thanks

I had these 3D printed up a while back for a ham radio antenna. There were about 5-6 different versions to accept with square or round antenna elements that mount to an aluminum boom ( 1") I would think i could mount these to the side of a pelican box or any box of that matter as long as the box has weight and girth to hold up the pole with the light

I found them on the SATNOGS site when they first came out - -https://satnogs.org/documentation/hardware/

So if you have access to a 3d printer you could print it out

you could also look on thingaverse and see if there is something that would work or design your own for a pole holder -- this might work http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:753409
