The M416 tub went to a military restoration guy. He said in 3 months he will have it fully restored and on a M416 frame.

I sure did Mark, I even wrote it down for them.

Tonight I repaired the hydraulic line on my uncles tractor and drug my next project out of the woods.

Digging that RED GMC!
Looking forward to the build, Any plans yet?
I would say a spring over is in order just for a little height.
A giant tear drop? or toy hauler would be cool.
Keep us posted.

I love the Red.

This is a full size build I'm building upon request and to see how hard a full size is to build.

This is how it looked when I pulled it out of the woods

I'm really looking forward to it Mark.

Took the frame to the Truck Stop scales

P7100362.jpg
Steer Axel 2800

Drive Axel 2120

Trailer Axel 740

Truck Total 5660

I tried to weigh the trailer unhooked but the scale wouldn’t record it the guy said it read just over 800.

It didn’t seem right with 2120 for the drive axel so I took the trailer home and went and got my 16' utility trailer.

Steer axel 2760

Drive axel 1440

Trailer axel 1420

Truck total 5620

I don’t see how a finished trailer GVW could be 40 lbs lighter than the frame alone. I am going to take the frame back tomorrow and re wegh it and see if the numbers come out diffrent. there is no way it has 640 lbs of tongue weight I can pick it up with 1 hand.

I took it back to the scales today.

Steer axle 2840
Drive axle 2000
Trailer axle 0
Total 4840

Then

Steer axle 2820
Drive axle 2120
Trailer axle 740
Total 5680

Trailer weight 840

I have no idea what happened with the utility trailer looks like when my brother gets back in town with it and my 4 wheelers I will have to go back to the scales.

It is going to be a box trailer that looks like a FEMA trailer with no windows and 24 inch deep shelves on each side. One of the guys I work wants to sell junk at Flea Markets so I'm building a trailer. I hope he likes it well enough to trade his 2002 Nisan Frontier for it.

Took the trailer to my Aunt's house this weekend
IMG_0987.jpg
Laid some 2 inch slices of 8X16 inch blocks.

600 mile round trip went well 60mph most of the way it tows well up to 70mph but the RPM's are around 2000 and that hurts MPG so I backed off to 60 and let anyone that wanted to pass me.

IMG_1005.jpg
Tonight I laid down 5 Sheets of 5/8 inch plywood 2 of them are screwed and liquid nailed down. I plan on having the walls framed this week.

Score!

I went back to the original owners property where the camper was torn down and lots of the bits were still there. Wheel skirts, fender tins, cargo door and main door. They are in ok shape good enough to install for size now and replace later as needed.
