My camping can opener is a P38, with the opener on my Swiss Army knife as backup.

I have one a Marine gave me 40 years ago from a C-ration and it still works as well as it did on day 1.

Gosh you guy's cost me $$$.
I just ordered it, it will arrive tomorrow, just in time for my vacation.

The one I have now is a cheap one that does not work all the time.

It was a toss up between this one and the other one at Amazon.

I've designed my own can opener, and am currently interviewing local fabrication shops to find one qualified to make it. I want an individual artisan, self-taught, who has personally driven the length of the Americas, so that he (or she) will know what makes a superior can opener.

Also, I'm having trouble sourcing the titanium.

When we get the first unit made, I will begin designing a carbon fiber mount to attach it to a roof rack.

I think unobtainium would be a much better material for these. I would even consider purchasing one from you if you can color match it to my Jeep. The paint code(2008) is PW1; Stone White.

On the other hand I may just keep my P-38. I picked up a hand full of them back in 1982 and they have NEVER failed. Oh yeah, and they were free

we've had good luck with kitchenaid and oxo stuff, as well as chop saws, cutoff wheels, reciprocating saw, torch and uhh other stuff i can't talk about here.

We still use our 10 year old standard OXO opener at home.

On the trail, my Leatherman works well enough, although we don't usually take canned goods with us.
