Inexpensive LED flood lights.

Right after they say "fog ready" it lists 'Beam pattern: Flood'. Floods do not make good fog lights. Completely different beam pattern.

I have a set of Xj88's pod lights. 4 x 4 16W leds, with an amber filter. Bright they are. Cant use them as fogs only because of the pattern. Not upper cutoff, but they are excellent aux lights. They just about overpower the low beams. I have them mounted on a Carr Lightwing on a 98 ZJ. I can post pics if needed.

Clear or yellow would have even more output as well..the yellow cuts out some lumens & the amber even more but all lights are this way, they are still WAY to bright.
I do however offer a 2x2 pod in flood or spot. Runs a single 10W Cree chip, and the flood would make a great flood I think! I'll get some pics up for ya's.

I am thinking of running a pair of the 6" bars on either side of my rack for alley lights. What is the group though on this? I have recently started volunteering with search and rescue and need some exterior lighting. I already have PFrans LED backup lights (nice and bright), but I was thinking of adding one of the 6” lights out back as well. What is the effective range? I have seen the photos but I cannot tell due to the exposure. I think they would make good alley/backup lights. Would the 6” bars or the 3LR rounds put out more light?

The 6" LED bars are only 6 watts - so the 3LR's would probably be brighter as they are listed as being four 3w LEDs or 12 watts total.

That said - the 6" bars are pretty bright - but the spread is pretty wide for "alley" lights perhaps. I would say they illuminate well out to about 50 feet.
