You know, I'm not sure. Reading back it's clear as mud and kind of hard to tell if it's just AT not carrying the line or if UMV is no longer producing it. Regardless, it makes no difference to Tenacious I bet...

Ursa Minor Vehicles is still making the J30 for 100% certain.

Sorry we let you down and it didn't work out. I offered an apology, we ran through several scenarios, and you decided to cancel the order. That was the whole of it. We did what you asked, returned all the custom parts ordered for your camper, and you were not billed for anything from UMV. You have posted under your alias anonymously in several threads here and other forums, months later, saying we "screwed you" and expressed an anger that was not there the day you were in the shop. We're not going to make you happy, I've accepted that, and we'll try to improve based on your feedback.

I really do hope you'll find a camper that works for you from AT, Red Cannon or the guy in Alabama and you can relax out in the wilderness.

You're right, you did offer and apology..right here in this thread yesterday, for the first time since this started nearly a year ago, only because I called you out on a public forum. I was looking for an apology while I was in your shop, at the time I went to get the promised camper all the way from Seattle. I distinctly remember waiting for an apology, because despite your nonchalant, "I've got the market cornered so I don't care if you buy this, I will sell it to somebody else," attitude, I may have waited around the extra 4-5 days you told me it would take, paid for the 4-5 nights in a hotel, meals, etc. But it was painfully apparent at the time, you were too busy sewing your little red pull cords to give me the time of day.

Anyway, I'm glad to see another JK camper option coming to the U.S. market. Competition is good, and tends to humble those would feel they've cornered the market, so customer service no longer matters.

You call that commendable? The only thing I've read that I'd consider commendable was the fact that Tenacious didn't flip his lid upon arriving on an agreed upon date to find the top no where near ready. It's not like he drove across town to find it not ready, he drove hundreds of miles after discussing it with UMV. Commendable would have been UMV offering a discount on it after personally delivering and installing at Tenacious' house. After all, he had no problem letting him drive down to find what he did so it's not unreasonable to expect him to make the drive to make it right. And then to post on here that he returned all of the special ordered parts without charges as if he did him a favor? Furthermore, his post about Tenacious being wound up even though he had no money down just proves his arrogance and lack of respect for his customers. The only favor he's doing is not making the JK top any longer so that others won't have to deal with his crappy business decisions like Tenacious did....

Yes, I do. It was a gracious, very public apology. Make what you will of the rights and wrongs of the issue; I did not take sides. You do take sides, and with that I have no problem at all. I commented only on the apology. A very public apology was once the primary requirement to cancel an affair of honor, by code duello. Private apologies were not.

Honor is satisfied.

Can anyone from Adventure Trailers comment on the new Habitat? Saw a picture from the Flagstaff Expo that had what looked like a habitat but folding behind the Jeep and a ladder on the side....(similar to Tacoma Habitat?). It seemed to be on an AEV JKUR....AT can you confirm and share some info on the new line of JKU Habitats? My family lives in Prescott and would love to see them, in the midst of a build right now. Thanks.

Kellie and I climbed all over that thing inside and out at the show as well as peppered poor Mario with about a million questions (he was a great sport and answered all of our questions with enthusiasm!). We're not ready to make the plunge quite yet, but when we do I think we're sold. Living in Arizona, the aluminum construction appeals to me as the sun eats everything here. I forget the exact number, but I believe the weight is down from the outgoing unit too. I can't wait till they officially release the details and we start seeing some on the trails!

Fantastic information! Did you by any chance see how big the sleeping area was? Figured good for 4 people right? Any chance Mario mentioned the ability to have a slim roof rack system on top of this? (bikes, etc)

The new unit still sleeps four and actually uses the same tent that was used on the outgoing model so it's the same size as the J180. Mario said that the tent that is currently installed is actually the same tent from the very first J180 prototype. I make a point to relay this because it still looks quite literally brand new. I consider this a testament to the quality of the materials used to make these tents. Mario did say that roof racks will be able to be fitted. A plus for us as we might need to stow some Kayaks up there some day.
