Regarding the question of parts being shipped... I wouldn't count on it here in Africa.
A friend who lives in my village in Uganda had a chainsaw (unavailable locally) mailed to him from the U.S.
Put it in a crate, marked it "Bibles" (the only way to not have it get stolen coming into the country), and it arrived.
Took about four months from San Diego, California to the bus station at Gulu, Uganda.
