Jumping Jack Tent Trailers

Finally got hold of somebody at Jumping Jack Lifetime Products about getting a replacement bag. They want $450 yes that is four hundred and fifty United States Dollars to replace the bag. INSANE IMO.

Looks like all their replacement parts are priced out of this world.

I will need to research alternatives

I don't know how the bag works - is the tent mounted to it or is it just a bag? You might look for a canvas shop (if there is boating around your area you should be able to find one). If the bag is good they could replace the zippers.

Just a thought ...

Yeah, thats putting it mildly. I wanted the large awning..but I can get two awnings from busdepot.com and still have money for beer and chicken.

It appears to be just a bag but when i spoke to them they said they need 2-3 weeks because they are made to your specific year. So it may be different depending on what year your trailer is.

The seem to want to be sure that parts fit and the have minor changes to the design. Although it's a pain, I think it's good they care about fit that much.

Harbor freight?

I found something really close to this at the local Lowes:

The one they had was $198, about 36" wide, 20" high and 24" deep. The one linked above looks bigger. They also have a couple other sizes.

Let me know what you are selling - I may want more. Once I take it out for a weekend spin I will have a better idea.

If you have a HF nearby, I saw to sizes, that were cheaper (probably in quality, too). I too got the message from Costco, I almost convinced the wife to trade in our NF family tent. I wonder how much you could mod it to make it off road worthy?

Hf is where I got mine, but its a tool chest designed to sit in a truck bed. when I stretch the tongue I am going to either add a tongue box in front of it, or mount my generator and propane tank.

Does anyone have the cheaper tent trailer (sold at Costco for $3500). I like the design with larger beds and smaller trailer. I wonder how the outriggers work, if they are telescoping so it could be used on uneven ground. The costco description of the tent material sounds good. My wife just got a new Xterra and this looks like it would be great for that vehicle.

from the pictures they look like they "telescope". it looks like a longer version of the support leg that is under the trailer.

I thought so too.

Maybe it is a new product but I can't find any reviews on it. The two "reviews" on the Costco site and the one on the Lifetime site are just comments made by people who don't have the product.
