The Bumper Story
The bumper story actually has to be preceded by the 'I let my sister drive my truck' story because in my trucks defense it was already a little tweaked. I had happened to have a drink or two or five so we decided it would be a good idea for my sister to drive my truck. Now, we live on a culdesac so you have to turn around to get out. Well, she decided to back out, not used to driving a truck, she hops the curb, no big deal, its a truck after all. That is until we hear a crunch. Sticking my head out the window I see that we just tagged a fire hydrant...no big deal, its a truck right? So I tell her to keep going and four feet later the right side of the bumper is wrapped around the fire hydrant and the left side is still attached. It was an easy fix - nothing a little elbow grease didnt fix.
Now, the official bumper story... While we were deciding where to camp, Robert kept saying over and over, "If we camp anywhere near that river someone is going to end up stuck at 2am." Of course we decide to camp right near it because we're all ready to have a nice cold beer. Sure enough, midnight rolls around and we decide to go back to the caves for some more exploring. We all piled into my truck and since I hadn't taken it easy at all up to that point I wasn't about to start just because it was dark out. The first crossing went well and we made it through safe and sound. With that in mind I decided to kick it up a notch or two and power through. I made it most of the way through before my truck just rolled to a stop and I thought, thats weird that I'm not moving. Sticking my head out the window to investigate I see my bumper floating by me and realized I was stuck.
