Mt Blanca Labor Day Weekend?

Hey guys,
Just thought I would let you know, we were on Blanca about 2 weeks ago and the trail was closed to vehicles past the lake. I ran this trail about 20 yrs ago and the climb past the lake was the toughest one. Wanted to do it again but no go this time. Have fun this is an awesome trail and the lake has to be the favorite place I have been to.

I had read report a while ago that the forest service was going to close the road around the lake to Jaws 4 if people kept driving off trail around the bog because of all the silt entering the lake.
No idea why it is actually closed but this might be part of it.

Cant find much on it. Jeepers Creepers will be up there before us working, maybe they are waiting for them to do some remediation. Same old Sedimentation BS argument. Maybe I will check in with them. Shame to lose the upper part of this great trail.

It is at the back side of the lake where the trail starts heading up the steep climb. There is a cable stretched across the trail with a no motorized vehicles beyond this point sign on it.

We saw very little snow on Blanca. There was for sure more on HolyCross which did after Blanca. HolyCross is most definitely a harder trail but the lake at the top of Blanca makes it all worth it.
