I look at a Defender with pure love. I have driven them and smile during every rattled, noisy, bumpy mile.
Even though the drivetrain is quite similar to my Discovery, the Defender is more capable in stock to stock form for several reasons, including greater running ground clearance, better approach and departure, better break-over and the ability to fit a 265/75 R16 tire from the factory. With a soft-top, they also have better COG.
The D90 is an exotic in NA, and still highly desirable because of their classic safari lines and cache.
I love them, and would not want them to be any different.
