Thanks guys! I am pretty proud of it! Its just a really simple, really reliable and economical truck to drive and it will go anywhere I've ever needed to go

My first post here, thanks for starting the thread, great truck!! You've inspired me to register. Hey, we're Yota brothers, here's my '93' as purchased a couple years ago:

I too would like to know what size tire you are running. They look like a good fit. My youngest daughter and I are planning a two week trip up into the Canadian Rockies this summer and since I need tires, I'm trying to determine what to get. I have a set of what look like the same stock skinny steel wheels as you that I'd like to use:

Thanks, Greg

Awesome truck! Please post more pictures!

I am running the LT235/75/15 BFG AT KO tires in load range C and they are about perfect IMO. No decrease in power or mileage and they will last. I thought about a slight lift, new gears and 33x10.50's but I've never been held back by having it stock so I just plan to keep it this way. Easier on the truck, cheaper for me and it keeps it simple which is what I like.

I have 155,000 miles on mine and I bought it with 147,000 so I've logged 8,000 trouble free miles and plan on logging many more. Of the 8000 mile I guarantee that 5000 of those are off pavement.

Thanks, that helps a lot!! I too get a big grin every time I get behind the wheel of mine, fits me perfectly. I share your thoughts on keeping it simple and functional. I don't want to hijack your thread, but since you asked, here's a couple more pics.

With some 30x10.5 tires and wheels I found cheap on CL

Dude! Don't worry about hijacking this thread, your truck is awesome! Keep posting em! I plan on keeping mine a lone time. Hell, the AC blows so cold it will run you out.

And I really like your camper. I need to find one like that. The aluminum camper that was on mine just fell apart

If you are willing to move up to 16s there are a lot more options for tires in the 30 to 32" size, skinnier and wider, whatever you like. I think 235 85 R16 would look great, not sure if you need a lift for that though.

I agree, you do need to find one, you'll love it!!. It's an older fiberglass Snugtop, I suspect it was purchased when the truck was fairly new and designed for this truck as the front angle matches the back of the cab. The few inches of extra height make a huge difference for climbing in and out, the flush sides are perfect for the Thule rack mounts, and the underside is lined so no condensation!!

Custom cat back exhaust, muffler tucked up high and tight

SR5 4Runner seats, very comfy

Other than a new timing chain and water pump, that's about all I've done with it.

Your truck is CLEAN!!!!! Did the seats just bolt right in or did you have to fab some mounting brackets? I like the idea of having separate seats and possibly a center console

Thanks for the consideration. Like most anybody, I too like the look of big meaty tires and was originally thinking along these lines but for practical purposes have decided for now to go the other way instead. The tires on the Tubby Xplorer don't look very big and they sure get around.

I hear you, I only ended up going with the 235 85s because they fit on my truck stock. Wrapping a pile of money up in a lift isn't always the best solution. I like to keep it reliable and simple.

I had to drill holes on both sides of the tunnel but otherwise they bolted right in. If you find some, be sure to grab the seat belt receptacles and the caps for the mounting bolts. I have them but you can't see in the pictures. I decided against a console because with such a small cab, a console offers very little storage and you lose all the flexibility of the space.

Great looking truck! Love the simple ones that actually get used.

About time for a 2nd gen pickup photo thread, there are a bunch popping up on here...
