Nicely done!!

Making me rethink the shape of my off-road trailer design. What are the dimensions of this little beauty? Main box width, length, height? Trailer overall width & length? Any details on the water tank that will be mounted up front?

Mike

Thanks guys...

The main box is roughly 43" x 74" and it is 24" high.

The front box is 18 x 38.5 x 10" high.

Overall the trailer is like 10' long! :D

The overall width is EXACTLY the width of my FJ40.

The water tank is a 21 gallon poly tank that I got off ebay for a song. It will have a Shurflo water pump attached to it to feed a shower and sink. It will sit at the front of the main box in a vertical position. Hope that helps!

I have the front box built and the sides riveted and "glued" in place, I should be done with the sheet metal by the end of this weekend.

CM08 or BUST! :D

Clean work there! What adhesive did you decide to use?

Thanks for the nice words fellas!

I ended up using Sikaflex, it is really great stuff, it has great initial tack for holding where you want it, without being unforgiving. It also has a long work time so you don't have to go crazy trying to get it in place, I would say you have about 30 min before you need to start to worry.

As for mass production... don't think so.

FWIW, I can say with CONFIDENCE that Adventure Trailers products are a DEAL when you consider the time it takes to make one of these by scratch. Before, I knew they were worth the price, I just couldn't afford it, well, if I made $15/hr for every hour I have worked on mine, I could have a Horizon and a Chaser in my driveway as we speak :D

ditto......but it does keep me in the garage and out of trouble.....plus the enjoyment of creation......

Hours into the build.....scary...although a lot are just wasted in 'thinking time"

Side A takes 4 hrs...and side B only takes 1 hr...as all the thinking and method work was done for side A.

Oh and the standing back admiring your own work time.....

and the beer time....and the having a cubalibre time before doing the next weld.. reloading the garage fridge time...etc etc

Without a doubt!

This is absolutely THEROPY to me! This is my time to relax, I am lucky to have such a patient wife who understands what I am going for and the time I need to make it happen.

Also, the 4 hours on one side thing is the absolute truth. Yesterday I experienced that exactly, I spent 4 hours figuring out the first side, and then cranked out the other side in about an hour.

I too stand there for long periods just looking at what needs to be done trying to figure out 4-5 steps down the road if I am on track. good times... :26_7_2:
