It's well cared for too. Kevlar? S-Glass?

Nice selection of wooden axes behind it.

It is a "blackgold" laminate Carbon fiber and Kevlar 49 hybrid. Super tuff super light. This canoe has been paddled on the Green River in Utah, Colorodo in Utah, the Arkansas river in Colorado, the Buffalo River in Arkansas, the Namakagen in Wisconson and all over the south east.

So far no Gel damage other then scratches. Now if I could wrestle all my boats into the garage but It would be full again with no room to work on my truck LOL!

Ok so tonight I had 2 hours of time to work in the garage. I started by clearing everything off the front wall to get it ready for the work benches. I looked on craigslist today and found them 2 for 50. I only used one of them to make the 8' bench that is 2' deep. I upgraded the partical board to 3/4" panels cut from a 4x8 oak laminate. Tomorow I will bolt the 2 benches together and if I do not feel the deck is strong enough after that I will cut down another 3/4 sheet and laminate it over the top piece to make it 1.5" thick.

I dug some of my tools out of the mess in the middle and placed the 2' x 4' peg panels on the bench to see what it looked like. It still needs to be framed and mounted on the wall. I plan to do that and add a full length shelf by the end of the week.

Here is tonights work of and note the norcold 60 plugged in and keeping the  cool!

Ok well today I finally had a chance to get back in the garage. I decided that I really needed to sort out all the crap in the middle. So I moved everything in the middle of the floor out to the drive.

I found 2 engines, a transmission, a winch bumper and a nasty oil spill dang it. Just kidding I knew all that was in there. Acually I did find a Tent I tought I lost and bunch of other odd ball bits of gear and car parts. I decided to move the engines along the wall on the far side of the cab and place the trans and winch bumper in front of the cab. Dang motors are heavy I need to build some dollies when I get my electrical service run for my welder. I hung my bikes temporary over the motors and rolled my welder into a temperary staging area as well and lay some kitty litter over my oil spill

After moving in the rest of the stuff from the garage that I did not finish sorting out, I still have a lot more room. Once I sort through all this stuff to either sell, donate, or pack away I will have enough room to roll the truck in.

Here is how it ended after an 8 hour day.

How much for the gilded frame?

well it is long gone in the trash. We were holding it for someone who ended up dieing. Anyway completely rotten unfotunetly. It was a really old piece but had severe termite and rot damage. it would literally crumble in your hands.

Very nice consolidation under the canoe rack, should make trip loading much easier! Also gives you a good opportunity to tarp all your fine things if you do any dirty work in the garage like cutting or grinding. I'm inspired, thank you.

I didn't pick up on it. I actually had 3 other people ask me about it before you did. Although you were the first on the net lol! Oh and I totally understand the ADD thing I actually joke about it in a book I am writing.

Well it has been along time since I added anything here but I have still been making a little progress here and there. I have not had alot of time since I am moving my company, was taking a class, and it was really hot so I lacked in the motivation department this summer.

Anyway here is a more recent pic but not as it sits today. I actually have a majority of my floor space now. I have run all my 220 for my miller matic 185 and my 80 gal compressor. All my camping and paddling gear is on the left and I am going to soon demo the built in cabinet behind the canoe for space to hang the bikes, car racks etc. All baby stuff is now in the attic as well.

I went 2 weeks ago to tampa steel got a huge piece of 3/8 plate and (2) 24' sticks of 1.5" 3/16 tubing and others to make a nice workbench. A nice upgrade over the cheap shelving system I through together for a bench.

I started by having a sheet of 3/8 cut to 30" x 65.5" the original sheet was 403lbs so my table top is about 320lbs!

I still have a 28 x 65.5" 3/8 sheet if anyone needs any I might sell it.

Then I started to chop up some tube and weld together a frame.

Here is the basic frame completed. I still have to mount alot of little stuff to it, but I ran out of welding wire yesterday.

I incorporated some 2.5" tube on each end.

This allowed for 2" inserts. I will have 3 to start. One for a vise, one for a grinder, and one for misc. I will be able to switch components from not only one end of the table to the other but also to either side. The steel top hangs 3" over the frame exept for the 2" reciever tubes it overhangs 1"

I also resessed the front side of the tables bottom cross brace. This should allow me to stand or sit close to the table more comfotably. This will help reduce fatigue for long tedious projects.

I am planning to add 6" tall wheeled castors to the all 6 legs so it can be mobile for cleaning, and for use in the driveway should I need to. Overall hieght is going to be 38.5" I wanted it a little taller to work on things at standing hieght.

I plan to add a diamond plate shelf on the bottom and peg board on one side to hold grinding wheels power strip etc. The other side will have a place for my clamps and holder for mig gun. Unfortunetly I have to go to chicago on thursday so I probably wont mess with it for 2 weeks but I am really looking forward to getting this thing ready for blasting and paint.

Been along time since I updated this. Father hood has kept me busy!

Table updates I got the frame welded to the table top and had to use my engine hoist to flip it right side up.

I welded a 3/8 plate to the top of one of the inserts for my small vise which I plan to upgrade.

Now positioned against the wall on 6" steel castors. I still have to get a few cross members and expanded mesh down for shelf and places to hang clamps etc but it's largely done.

I did finally score a nice craftsman cabinet last night off craigs for $100 so I will be working on that today getting alot of stuff organized into it which will free up more space.
